Beginner japon ko, i think basics would be... Tools for

Cutting - Hand Saws, Circular Saws, Jig Saws, Table Saw, Miter Saw, Scroll Saw, Band saws, Special handsaws like (back saw, dozuki etc...)
Marking tools
Measuring tools - Squares, Triangles, tape measures, straight edge (rulers)
Fastening Tools - Hammers, Impact Drivers, screw driver
Drilling tools - Drill Drivers, Drill press
Clamping Tools - F clamps, C clamps, Bench Vise, moxon Vise, Pipe clamps, etc...
Planing Tools - Power Planers, Jack Plane, Smoothing plane, block plane, jointer plane, power jointers, thickness planers
Sanding Tools - Bench Sander, random circular sander, belt sanders
routers - plunge router, table router

The list goes on and on... pro really it would depend jud unsa gusto style of woodworking and unsa imu gusto ma achieve...
So think of a project, buy a few tools necessary to finish that project... Then think of another one, nya add tools... i swear ako, i think of projects to have an excuse to buy tools nya para dli ko ma kulating sa missis... maka adik, murag toys jud cya...

oh by the way, you can also get surplus tools for half the price... that's what i do, sa manila lang nako ma buy through online...

only challenge karon is getting quality wood, i still don't know aha ko mo source og mga nindot na wood... hopefully naa maka help nako... I'm hoping plane na cya and straight, kay wla pako means to prep wood... daghan kaayo ma waste nako na wood... dli ko nahan kay sayang and bad for evironment wasting wood... preferred gani nako repurposed wood...

Bago ra ko nahuman build sa ako work table w/ moxon vise... To give you an Idea unsa na mga tools ako use...
Table saw, Miter Saw, Table Router, Power Planer, Drill Driver, Pocket Hole Jig, Sander, Back Saw, Chisels, Drill Press, Measuring tools...
Pro pwede ra gud ka wla ani uban tools... Depende lang gud, ako kay i just really want to get in really deep into wood working hobby... Also addicted ko tools...
pro i started with hand saws, hammer, sander, drill driver and measuring tools... if you can start with good quality hand tools kay these would really last....
