stacy: how do you know its infertile? If you are candling your eggs then there is no mistake. Varying opinions gyud na for every breeder, some would say after candling if its infertile ila kuhaon ug ilabay ang eggs, for me i just leave the infertile eggs together with the fertile eggs. Why? para inig ka piso while naglumlum pa ang inahan dili mapisat ang newly hatched chick. Only if i'm sure di na mahatch ang egg then i'll remove it.

Para nako i breed them like they would in the wild, once i see that naa na sila egg and nagincubate na then the next time i would open the box would be 2 or 3 days from the expected date of hatching. Long process gyud ni ako kay di ko ganahan ma stress ang parent birds.

agree... thats what we call as candling, pila ka weeks ang eggs before nimo gicandle?

yes sir lito. parakeet. 7 days after nila g itlog akng g candling.

stacy: nakalimot na ko but try to search the net kuno on how to candle eggs... murag 7 days upon incubation maklaro na ang egg if fertile ba. Di kaayo ko sweto ani stace kay wa man gud ko magpractice ug candling.

That red line you saw are veins na ma'm stacey. That means that egg is fertile. Maybe the hen is starting to nest na. Dili man na right away mo develop ang egg kay dili man dayon lomloman nila until they stop laying eggs. Paabota lang after 10 days. Try to candle the eggs again. You will see that daghan na ang veins and that blood is starting to develop. Observe lang sa ma'm stacey. Happy breeding.
