as for your other option, you need to email dlink about the "particular problem" you are experiencing now.
dlink, fyi, will address the problem with their beta firmwares according to the specific problem experienced by their clients.
my dlink (asian hardware built) is responsive now and addressing the issues specially related to point-to-point protocol on ethernet encapsulation.
