Naa sa captain A's been there murag 4 times na ata. But the real boodle fight I've eaten into was way back high school na nag uban ang GSP ug CAT sa camping.... habwa tanan humay, sardinas ug buwad sa dahong saging.... It's not the food that makes it feel good to aet at a boddle fight, it's really the friendship and bonding.and the fact na walay artehun sa grupo.
Naa diay ni nga thread..hehehe... Anyway, I'll share my experiences with you guys with my budol fight search.
Captain A's - Nag nihit ang sud-an sa ilang budol fight selections and rice ra ang gadaghan. The quality of the food is not really that great for me. Overpriced, overhyped and their service is getting worst! Not to mention the restaurant that becomes too noisy because the indoor restaurant is so closed out.
Seafood Restaurant (New Wing Ayala Center Cebu) - utro sad! The prices on their menu is not bad. But when the food is served gamay ra kaayo ug sud-an. As usual, the rice is plenty. Their bagoong rice though taste good. But the dishes are BLAND, SMALL IN PROPORTIONS, and close to a carenderia type of cooking. Their so-called grilled shrimps were actually steamed shrimps that didn't have any flavor. Ang ilang grilled squid, gahi mura kag ga usap ug goma. Ang ilang crabs, utro sad. Wala sad lami (at times dry pa gyud ang crabs, which means its either overcooked, or was cooked hours before already).
Now you might say that I'm cruel with my comments, I went to these restaurants on 3 occasions na. So far wala gyud ko na satisfy. So with that, I decided to bring the BUDOL FIGHT experience in my house and cooked it for my family during my kiddo's birthday.
and this is the end result that fed 15 people at 2,500 budget. Now what did I get for my 2.5k? Sinigang na white marlin, 3 kilos of crabs cooked as Singaporean Chilli Crabs, 2 kilo of grilled pork belly, litob in butter and garlic, 1 kilo of large grilled tilapia. As for veggies, 3 large cucumbers, 1/2 kilo of steamed okra. Plus a mountain of rice.
Ang dessert? Managed to squeeze in 1 kilo of yummy mangoes and 2 litro of coke.
Now, my point is...Budol Fight is suppose to bring us smile on our faces as we dine and not break our wallets in one dining. So instead of spending A LOT for such experience. Bring that wonderful experience to your homes at an overwhelmingly satisfying result.![]()
P.S. Mas malingaw pa mo ug kaon kay keber kaayo mo sa inilugay sa sud-an ug kan-on. Pag serve nako sa lamesa sa food napa WOW akong family kay its not the usual family dinner. Added points to this..... WALAY HUGASAN NGA PLATO UG KUTSARA! hahahaha.....
daghan choices na pasok sa budget... naay good for 4-10 or more.. check them out!
