no offense to LOTR fans, but being honest, i don't really like the way the fight scenes are photographed in the LOTR movies. most of the shots are too close, and there aer too many cuts to understand what's going on.

i can say that X2:X-MEN UNITED's fight scene with Deathstrike vs. Wolverine uses the same ways to 'cheat'. but bryan singer shoots the fight so exquistitely that it kinda resembles the 'mobile' camera movments of a tekken game.

matrix 1,2,3 - all action scenes in the movie. the best

undersiege 1,2 - steven segal fight scences especially the one on the train against the cook

Yoda and Count Duku of Star Wars: Attack of the Clone. Spinning and twirling sabers. wow. nindota sah !!!!

the Yoda and Dooku scene may look really thrilling when you see it first (cuz Yoda's gonna fight at last!!!) but once you see it more and more times, its really nothing that explosive.

its more like sonic the hedgehog, green version.


anyways, the duel in THE PHANTOM MENACE with Darth Maul and Kenobi and Jinn was reeeeeealllllly something! i've seen it many times and everytime i see it, its just as exciting.
its also done to "Duel of the Fates" by John Williams, its very operatic, it really suits the mood of the action scene.

watch how QUICK Maul kicks Qui Gon in the chin after he jumps to the next catwalk. (prior to that Qui Gon punches Maul's face with a backfist)



the movie had bad pacing and a lotta juvenile scenes though. so PHANTOM MENACE, despite the fact it is badly crticized by art fags who like to overintellectualize, is still a very good film and NOT a turkey in my book.
