yeah bitaw, musician's ear, for me, is a must.
I disagree brother...... it's passion...
take a look at this guy:
Beethoven suffered from gradual hearing loss beginning in his twenties. He nonetheless continued to compose his masterpieces, and to conduct and perform, even after he was completely deaf.
Beethoven had talent to begin and work with. Passion alone can't get you nowhere. Passion helps you achieve something pero it doesn't mean na without passion, you can't be a good musician. I know people who makes great music and are good musicians in their own right but they neglected music altogether. People who have families and day jobs. Lahi na ang priority. Pero inig hang out nya jam jam, mo gawas ang tinaguan.
Having the talent is a must, a good ear, an open mind, and the will to learn and serve the music.
Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
@nailworms thats true but true passion started when he first "heard" those notes diba? and i was refering to just one major point brod... listening
yup... and still he continue to do so brother... Clockwork orange is one of my favorite movie though... Yup, that's true ezra although music in general is like art... there are people who were genius in different form... and if there's someone who appreciates, well we can say its music or an art... it's just a matter of knowing the magnificent from the mediocre...
one thing i'm always proud of what my brotherhood has taught me was the Capital "E" principle....... Excel............
yeah, a musician's ear (let's call that talent) is very important, and there should be a foundation of passion too.
i believe these two should be mutually inclusive in what we call a 'good musician'.
thank God almost all those who post here before me were great musicians and are worthy to talk to...... I salute you all.... also consider that in a band you will not play alone but you need others to jam with you. And when you play with your band in front of the audience you need them to listen to you... ONE LOVE!
more power to you and your band bro you got our support
Nailworms... that's right bai... communication between bandmates is a must. Serving the music is a must as well... I always believe this philosophy. Dili nga mo show-off ka sa imong talent and to overplay the piece just so you stand out and outstage your bandmates. Naay mga manukaray nga ingon ana sab ang kina-iya.
There are musicians out there who are not technically proficient to the extent nga maka ingon kag NGILNGIG pero maka amgo gyud ka nga maayo gyud nga musikero. NAILWORMS, our mutual friend, GEMO would fit such description. Si ANOT sab sa 40.
Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
nah, i just love watching band members look at each other, communicate, nya katugma gyud ang music.... parang telepathic sila haha. ayos
