Question: Are Cobb's kids at the end still part of the dream?
Answer: The kids are not wearing the same clothes at the end. And they do age. We were working with two sets of kids.

Question: Does the top keep spinning at the end of the movie?
Answer: The important thing is that Cobb is not looking at the top. He doesn't care.

Michael Caine Explains "Inception" Ending

"[The spinning top] drops at the end, that's when I come back on," he said. "If I'm there it's real, because I'm never in the dream. I'm the guy who invented the dream."

Back in August, "Inception" costume designer Jeffrey Kurland also said that the totem fell because "the children's clothing is different in the final scene."

There's also the wedding ring theory. Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is seen wearing the ring when he's dreaming, but not in reality. At the end of the movie, he is ring-less.

So there you have it, Cobb was back in reality.

I finally watched the movie, it answered my question as to why people are so confused about the ending.

All I can say is that, if you can easily keep track of the movie, there's no way you will be confused with the ending. I am boggled to see that many people didn't get the ending at all.
