Amazing, none of the entries reached the P100,000,000 sales mark!

The Bong Revilla-starrer “Ang Panday” maintained its strong hold on top of the box-office, reaping P99.4 million during its first two weeks.

Ousting “Ang Darling Kong Aswang” from second place is “I Love You Goodbye,” which raked in P94.3 million. The vampire com moves to third place with P89.6 million.

The Regal Entertainment entries “Shake Rattle, and Roll XI” and “Mano Po 6: A Mother’s Love” entered the top five with P77.6 million and P42 million, respectively.

Former top five film “Nobody, Nobody But Juan” fell to number six with P31.9 million, while “Wapakman” remains at the bottom post, with ticket sales amounting to just P2.6 million.

“In spite of the calamity and in spite of having only seven films, I would like to say its successful,” said Ric Camaligan, member of the executive committee of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

He added that none of the entries have been illegally reproduced, distributed, or sold.

Albeit the P500-million target was not reached, Camaligan reported that the festival’s total gross of P437.6 million is good enough.

    Krista Ranillo slams pregnancy rumors

Media-elusive and controversial starlet Krista Ranillo dispelled rumors that she is pregnant with boxing champ Manny Pacquiao’s child, and that she went to Cebu for a check-up.

“Talaga? Hindi. Dito lang ako the whole time. Nagte-taping, nag-shu-shoot. Wala akong time na magse-Cebu,” she told “Startalk” in an ambush interview on Jan. 5.

It is recalled that the eldest Ranillo daughter left on Dec. 24, 2009 for the US to spend the holidays with her family there.

Prior to her flight, write-ups mushroomed that she flew to the Visayas where she allegedly took a pregnancy test.

She denied speculations that the People’s Champ funded her business ventures.

“Talaga, negosyo? Kuwento mo sa’kin kasi hindi ko alam eh,” she told the interviewer, laughing.

Eula Valdes’ BF chided in press con

Rocky Salumbides, the international model-boyfriend of actress Eula Valdes, was reportedly chided during the press con of her new show, “The Last Prince,” by talent manager and entertainment columnist, Alfie Lorenzo.

“Kanina lang parang nabastos lang siya. May lumapit lang. Sobrang insensitive ‘yung tao. Nasaktan ‘yung ego niya. Below the belt na ‘yung sinasabi [eh]. Buti na lang huminto na ‘yung tao,” recalled Eula on “Startalk,” almost in tears.

The actress wishes for Alfie to be more sensitive in his dealings with people.

“Ganun na siya eh. Kilala na siyang ganun eh. [Pero] sana maging sensitive siya,” she said.

Ang Panday might as well reach the P100,000,000 mark as it is still being played in some theaters until now.
