Report: Spanish prospect Rubio to enter NBA draft

BADALONA, Spain (AP)—Spanish basketball prospect Ricky Rubio has decided to enter June’s NBA Draft, according to Spanish reports on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old Rubio, who is under contract with Spanish club DKV Joventut through 2011, has been rated as one of the top picks for the June 25 draft.

Rubio, who was a member of Spain’s silver medal-winning team at the Beijing Olympics last summer, has until Sunday to register, although he can also withdraw up to 10 days before the draft at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

The 6-foot-2 point guard, whose buy-out clause with Joventut is $7.8 million, has averaged 9.9 points and 5.7 assists this season for the club. Rubio turns 19 in October, meeting the NBA’s age requirement.

if Kings own the No.2 pick, then Rubio is a great fit in Sacramento!

-wala pa naapil si Stephen Curry ug Ty Lawson kay karong adlawa pa sila mo-decide kung mo enter ba cla..

    1. Blake Griffin 6-10 PF Oklahoma
Bruising forward reminds scouts of a young Carlos Boozer.

    2. Ricky Rubio 6-4 PG Spain
Talented young Euro, but will his game translate to the NBA?

Super long UConn prospect, finally living up to hype.

    4. Ed Davis 6-10 PF North Carolina
Great upside, but he's returning for his sophomore season.

    6. James Harden 6-4 SG Arizona State
Big-time scorer isn't flashy, but is lethally effective.

    7. Willie Warren 6-4 PG Oklahoma
Versatile freshman says he's returning for his sophomore season.

    8. Al-Farouq Aminu 6-8 SF Wake Forest
Long, athletic forward in the Anthony Randolph mold.

    9. Jordan Hill 6-9 PF Arizona
Needs strength and hoop IQ, but has motor, explosiveness.

    10. DeMar DeRozan 6-6 SG USC
Athleticism, size and skill have drawn Kobe comparisons.
