Public worship is different from personal prayer. Don't pretend they are the same. Christ commanded that the Church worship as a community. The mass is a form of worship done by large communities. It therefore requires proper facilities. These requirements are different from those of sleeping quarters.

First of all, there are others CAUSING the problem, like corrupt officials and greedy companies. Second, caring for the poor is also the job of the government and the people (not just the Church) -- and the government (as well as many people) doesn't do its job. The problem is too big for the Church alone. Others should do their part and many of them don't. This is obvious.

But your question simply reveals that you aren't even bothering to get the facts. Do you even know how many orphanages, hospitals, schools, feeding centers, etc. the Church as to support? NO. You haven't even bothered to check. Until you do, you can't really engage this issue properly.

If it's humanitarian projects you're looking for, you can simply look up the list of services and facilities of the Cebu Archdiocese. There are schools, hospitals, orphanages. etc. there. It's on Google.

But that's only the material aspect. The point of being Catholic is to believe in the truth. The doctrines of the Church can be proven to be reasonable and true. That is why Catholics believe, without having to rely on blind faith.
