FACT: For those who want to drastically lighten their skin, face and body, peeling with bleaching solution is the only way to get there. But this will flake off skin in big chunks. The new exposed skin will be red, sore and sensitive that direct sun exposure will cause burning and skin discoloration. Any scratches can cause skin infection so stay home for a week or so.

The places known for skin peeling are Philosophy by Mikaela for Power White stem cell treatment and Cathy Valencia’s Body Peel. Mikaela is relatively the more affordable, with Rufa Mae Quinto as endorser. Valencia is known for her products’ gentle yet effective ingredients. Christine Reyes and Ara Mina are her endorsers.

Another fast way to lighten skin with no downtime involved is the intravenous glutathione. Only body scrub minus the bleach and oral glutathione supplements are considered safe for expectant mothers.

Sunblocks with at least SPF 30 must be applied on exposed areas.
