What is happening now is doulble whammy. Reduced forex but higher consumer prices.

We're not talking here what if the peso did not appreciate. What we are talking here is the effect of the PESO THAT APPRECIATES. For if we keep on going back to the past when the peso was at 55, then we should not be talking about the effects of a strong peso in the first place.

Let us not recoil back to the past when confronted when an argument about the uselessness of the strong peso.

okay to indulge when the peso was at 55, at that time, around 2005, the prices of basic commodities were as just as the same as we have now, or even much lower.

"what if 55 gihapon" scenario is just to show comparison...so that you will understand how the effects of the strong peso made an impact.

look! if 55 pa gihapon ang forex nato karon, we will be refilling our cars with more than 60 pesos per liter of gasoline which would lead to higher consumer prices, businesses gong bankrupt & spiraling our economy downward creating a recession...so asa man ka ana beh? ka-klaro ana ah di pa gyud ka ka gets...
