LEGO Series 8 Santa Review
LEGO timely released Santa as part of Series 8 last September 2012 although I got mine just this month just in time for Christmas! He he, I mean, ho ho.

Design
- There's nothing exceptional about this figure. I don't mean that in a bad way. HOw can LEGO deviate from Santa's tried and tested look?
- When I first saw this minifigure in the Series 8 lineup, I decided to get him because he is Santa.
Paint
- I love the attention to detail in how they painted his bushy brows - there's a shadow uner each one giving an illusion of depth.
- The same attention was applied to his belt where the gray paint gives the illusion of sheen on the black leather.
- There are some minor paint errors but nothing jarring.
Accessories
- His magical, bottomless gift bag.
Fun Factor
- I'm not sure how Santa would interact with the other minifigures off-season but it would be fun hunting for other LEGO minifigures and accessories that would complete him like Series 4 Lawn Gnomes (LEGO.com Minifigures : Bios - Series 9 - 71000 LEGO Minifigures Gnome) which could stand in for his little elves.
Gripe
- I wish that he also had an actual present out of the bag (I could borrow one of my daughter's collectible erasers though).
- And, I wish he was bigger or 'healthier'. This particular Santa is a gym rat.
