yeah... it's true BUT you didn't not think of the BENEFITS the US government could give us. even though they have corrupt government officials the people and the state are not affected by one or more corrupt officials.

Default MERGED: Do You Want U.S. Statehood For the Philippines?

One distinct quality that separates the Philippines from other progressive Asian nations like Singapore and Japan is their genuine love for their motherland. I totally disagree with the idea of the Philippines becoming a state of the USA.

Colonial Mentality is one of the most prevalent and difficult problems our country has faced ever since. It is like a tumor, unnoticed at first, but when it has fully grown it can't be easily be eradicated. This form of mental sickness, if not cured, will surely kill our nation.

Filipino culture, heritage and tradition is incomparable to other nations, even the United States of America. Let's be proud of our race, instead of pinning it down in exchange of something, what me must do is to enrich, promulgate and develop it.

Harsh comments, Jerry. In the future, it would probably be a good idea to double check your grammar and spelling BEFORE accusing a "citizentry" of being uneducated, "obesed" and ignorant.

kung selfless lang ang officials nato unya love pa gyud nila ang country.. i kept thinking nga maau cguro unta nga atong mga high ranking officials cannot own a property outside our country and they cannot go to foreign countries to get medical attention.. that way they are forced to improve our country's medical quality and other standards..something like that..

There are bad apples ... the problem with the Philippines is there are far more bad apples in the batch. Honest Filipino politicians is the exception, not the rule. What little the Philippines has is for the most part in the hands of these bad apples. The US is so big, power so spread out, that there is no chance for the powerful few to sway all.
