While you're at it, it is highly recommended to watch the OVAs and the Movie too. They're all connected to the series, not just in a subtle way but very cleverly plotted by the author. Maybe he fragmented it to earn more or he did it to live up to the time travelling essence of the story? I don't know. But it will definitely surprise the hell out of you if you finish everything (specially if you're the type of person who loves the mystery-crime-solving genre) coz, again, every entry is connected to each other.

In Japan, there are lots of spin-offs and game-related issues that are not going out to the West/EU and that's why fans play the visual-novel just to stay on course with the series.

i see.. so what would be the best sequence: anime first, then the OVA's and movies, or the other way around?

^ Series first and the OVAs and the Movie can be interchanged. But I tuned in with Series -> Movie -> OVAs before.

The catch starts around episode 5 and the rest is history.

Its definitely worth checking out. It starts a little bit slow,IMO but once it picks up you just have to watch one more episode. at least that was my experience.

Watched the movie yesterday. Im happy they made Kurisu Makise the main protagonist this time around.

As for the movie itself. It was great, IMO. Its not just an unnecessary cash in. Totally made sense and it made my favorite character (Makise Kurisu) the main protagonist.

Cant wait for Steins Gate Zero.

How about the Stein's Gate Special where the gang went to America to visit Kurisutina and there they met some parts of the future. That one I guess was made in preparation to Zero.

PS I have a canon figma of Makise coz she happens to be my long time crush Haha

    Saw that one too.

I cant really say that its part of a prep for Stein's Gate zero. From what I know, Steins gate zero takes place in an another timeline where Okabe failed to save Kurisu and he meets him as some form of AI. I think it picks up from episode 23.
