I tell you bro the punishment of sin is something that will not bring pleasant things.

    David's punishment:

    And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;

And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.

Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the Lord, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.

Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.

Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.

For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. And Nathan said unto David, The Lord also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.

Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

And Nathan departed unto his house. And the Lord struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.
    2 Samuel 12:7-15

These scenarios usually apply to the people who "intentionally sin" after being saved like David.
So tell me if you are saved would you dare intentionally sin against your God?
I know everyone of us has experienced in vernacular terms "gaba".

We need to study the scriptures continually for us to be aware of our sins.

If we intend to ignore and not study the scriptures we are in danger of being lost spiritually, and in religious delusions.

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
    Mathew 6:2

We cannot live by bread alone(ignorance of the scriptures).

the two should go hand in hand where good works as a result of faith..
'cause faith without action is a dead faith." and good works alone is not enough
that's what happened to our jewish brothers in the old testament...
that's where the messianic prohecy comes in..that's where Jesus comes in...
where we put our faith that in His death on our behalf on the cross..our sins are forgiven
and by His ressurection we can have eternal life...and because of this faith..good works kicks in..hehehe...
spread the good news mga brad...Jesus said...Go and make disciples of all nation...

Does one need to be "saved" in the first place? Why not just do good things simply because you want others to do good things to you? Love unconditionally. Do not love because your god threatens you with hell or promises you heaven. Love simply because you want to be loved yourself.

you can do that bro but its not the ultimate purpose of life. It is to know our creator and love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

Sa atong paminaw nindot or insakto na but we're only finding particulars with no Ultimate.

in most cases i would agree with you bro and even hope that after doing all the Loving...we will be satisfied...but the thing is,we will never be unless we feel the Loving arms of our savior..often times we think it is security, family, fame, success, and other stuff we put into the whole/gap in our hearts that we try to fill with all kinds of other stuff...but still unsatisfied..'cause the one proof that man needs God or saving...is the undying longing for something that lasts forever..peace bro ha...not up for debates...i respect you for what you believed in...like i said in most cases, i would agree with you...

    Romans 6:6 (KJV)

"Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that the BODY of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin."

    Romans 6:12 (KJV)

"Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof."

Mao bitaw after nata pagka saved ato ipakita sa mga taw ang maayong buhat para makita nila na lahi nata sa uban ug para ma kita nila si Kristo diha sa tong kinabuhi.

    2 Corinthians 4:10 (KJV)

"Always bearing about in the BODY the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body."

    1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV)

"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and BODY be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."
