Nothing you can do about pricing.
Rent + Staff + Not-everybody-digs-Lego.
But it's good to support them once in a while.
Places selling legos (with lots of variety) are very RARE.
So it would be a shame to see them close.
So far, I've only bought the minifigs from them.
Still not convinced I should be buying lego sets,
even though I want some of them badly.
And I don't like the Lego sets these days: BRANDED.
Friends. Harry Potter. Star Wars. Cars. and other franchises.
Gone are the lego sets of yore... like castles. Hey, middle age Lego rocks!
I still have my old lego.. altho dili na sya ma assemble as complete set. Train, drawbridge ug unsa pa to... makes me feel old.
LEGO Star Wars 9494 Jedi Interceptor Review

Looks
- When I first saw Jedi Interceptors in Revenge of the Sith, the first thing that came to my mind were TIE fighters especially Darth Vader’s TIE Advanced x1 first shown in Episode 4 at the Battle of Yavin. It seems this was a consideration when they designed this ship; to tie the Return of the Sith to Episode 4.
- I love this ship’s compact yet elegant design and the color green and grey colors work together to create a military-looking space ship and we boys love our space ships.
Fun
- This model has lots of cool features. The cockpit can be opened so Anakin or any humanoid minifigure can sit inside. The wings can be folded downwards to a 45 degree angle but I suggest you don’t (see Gripe). Keep it at the angle shown in my photos.
- The flaps can be folded 270 degrees but they look good when angled like in the photos. They also look good flat against the wing.
- R2-D2 fits snugly in the droid compartment. If R2’s memory weren’t wiped in Episode 3, he’d probably see the irony of him serving the father and the son. It would probably short-circuit him, poor fella. In a way, it’s good he was wiped cleaned.
- And yeah, two flick missiles (avoid aiming for the eyes). They’re not spring-loaded but they could hurt (play responsibly).
Gripe (although this is just really nitpicking on my part)
- Stickers but this isn’t just for this model. Because of their target audience, LEGO isn’t providing us with dry or better yet, wet transfer decals normally included with military model kits and other more adult kits like Gundam.
- Remember that I said that the wings can be folded downwards at a 45 degree angle, well, if you do, the ship would break apart because folding the wings downwards actually pulls up the parts where they’re attached to (in physics, ‘ For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.’ Right?). I’m pretty sure LEGO didn’t mean for this to happen but they could have poke yoke-ed it (that’s mistake proofing for you).
- Ahrg, baby looking missiles. I wish LEGO would create more realistic looking missiles and weapons but heck, maybe one of the fun moments in LEGO building is creating your own models and that includes missiles.
- No landing gears. Now this is really a shortcoming. I have to make one myself now but it shouldn’t be too hard after I take MBA. Er, no, not Master’s in Business Administration but Master Builder Academy next year. Some people go to school to learn about advance math, I will go back to school to learn how to build my own LEGO. To each his own.
Conclusion
- I’d score this model 4.75/5 (5 if it had landing gears) but heck if you’re a LEGO collector, go buy one right now! It would look good in your display cabinet and I will be bringing mine to the office.
- I do recommend you get a display stand for flying toys though so you can pose this model as if it’s really flying and not just when you’re playing with it with your hands, whooshing and zooming or worst just letting it sit in landing mode.
I have a couple sets that I purchased from the states. Had to dissemble them and store them to make room for my kid![]()
LEGO Series 7 Evil Knight Review
When I saw this minifigure, it brought back the memory that I watched a movie where there was a Black Knight.

Design
- While I don’t remember the Black Knight having red eyes, I assume that this particular minifigure is a Black Knight with dark powers giving him superhuman strength, agility, stamina.
- The overall shape is elegant as if this Knight was breed for quickly killing his opponents. There’re no extra protrusions in his armor that would slow him down.
- The pattern used to accentuate his armor is very eye catching.
Paint
- Based on the original sizes of the photos, I didn’t see any major paint defects.
- He has no back printing though.
Accessories
- A sword and a great looking shield with a wild boar pattern. He must be a member Ms. Piggy’s Fans Club.
Fun Factor
- All I need is a black horse (did LEGO make one?)
- Series 9 has the Heroic Knight (LEGO.com Minifigures : Bios - Series 9 - Heroic Knight) and that would be the perfect enemy for the Evil Knight and they’ll be fighting for the Cave Woman’s affections. Don’t ask me why her because love is blind as they say.
- The Series 9 Cyclops would be a good sidekick for the Evil Knight too (LEGO.com Minifigures : Bios - Series 9 - Heroic Knight).
Gripe
- If I were to nitpick, I’d say I wish LEGO also continued the pattern on his body armor to his helmet, don’t you agree?
Score: 5/5
