Sarah is the true ‘queen’ of ABS-CBN and Star Cinema

By virtue of the staggering box-office gross of her latest movie, You Changed My Life, Sarah Geronimo (photo) is hands-down the true “queen” of Star Cinema and its sister company, ABS-CBN.

The movie raked in more than P27 million on opening day and over P70 million during its three days of showing.

That likewise makes John Lloyd Cruz, Sarah’s leading man, the twin company’s “king.”

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, You Changed My Life is projected to gross, hold your breath, P250 million during its entire run, surpassing the P180 million total gross of the love*team’s first starrer, A Very Special Love (also directed by Cathy).

    SANGA-SANGANDILA Ni Veronica R. Samio Updated March 03, 2009 12:00 AM

The movie launched to stardom Dina Bonnevie, Maricel Soriano, and Snooky Serna.
    * * *
Love pa rin ako ng audience, mature na sila, alam na nila what is a role and what is real,” pagmamalaki ni Megan whose fondest wish is to win an acting award.

‘You Changed My Life’ Hits P100 Million Before 7 Days

Star Cinema’s “You Changed My Life” starring box-office king and queen John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo hits a record-breaking P27 million last Saturday to be on track of surpassing the P100 million mark on its first week of screening.

Today, March 3, is the 7th day of screening concluding the first week run of the romantic comedy helmed by Cathy Garcia-Molina. On it’s first day alone, You Changed My Life has earned an estimate of P18 million (without padding) according to Star Cinema Booking and Distribution Department.

Although the film outfit did not reveal the box-office outcome for Thursday, Friday and Sunday, they are optimistic that the movie will hit P100 million in box-office receipts on Monday.

Based from the public’s overwhelming response in theaters across the country last weekend, You Changed My Life is on track to surpass the earning of A Very Special Love, the no. 1 movie of 2008. The first John Lloyd Cruz-Sarah Geronimo starrer has grossed a total of P180 million.

Lead star John Lloyd Cruz and director Cathy Garcia Molina are both in the United States for the film’s screening there. SNN reported Monday night that the US screening was very successful as the tickets were all sold out in Los Angeles.

From Arizona pa sila…hindi na sila nakapanood,” John Lloyd Cruz said.

    ----------

gratz to JL and SG. and to Star Cinema!

    wohoo!
