Hi to all,
Newbie here.
People here seems interested with Plastic Models. We could create this models using 3D printers nowadays, in other improved countries they had been printing a lot of 3D models of the object ranging from decoration statues to bicycles, to complex toys and even to cars. I have been thinking the same to put up something here in cebu. To create products by 3D printing them, but I need people who are both enthusiastic and interested in this field. For now, we need modelers, mechanical designers(who knows how to use lathe and milling machines to build the mechanical parts of the 3D printers). I am a software engineer. I know the software interfacing to the computer part.
We will start simple, such as printing decorative statues made from white cement bonded with water using the 3D printer, layer by layer. Then we move to complex ones such as bike helmets using PLA (polylactile acid plastics) as the ink. I don't know if these materials is available in cebu. We need researchers and canvassers of the components. This is a nice profitable collaborative proposal to everyone involved. There are a lot of possibilities. You may want to start reading at this page. http://reprap.org/wiki/Main_Page
Complete designs are available, we just need to build them.
We can build anything imaginable. We can even build the itself using the 3D printer.
Please PM me if you are interested ivanceras[at]gmail.com
Thank you!.
