JR Rider, popularly known as Isaiah Rider.

Apart from his sterling performance with the Minnesota Timberwolves, winning the slam dunk contest in 1994, and winning the 1995 ESPN ESPY award for best NBA play, Rider is known for his off court misdemeanor. Even in his very first practice as a rookie in 1993, Rider was late which was a sign of things to come in his NBA career.

Some of Rider's off court misadventures during his NBA career includes kicking a female manager of a sports bar and was convicted of fifth degree assault. Teams can't get hold of Rider because of his tremendous attitude problem. So far, only Phil Jackson was able to neutralize Rider. Rider won a ring with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2000-01 season. Rider never saw action in the NBA after playing only 10 games during the 2001-02 season with the Denver Nuggets but claimed during that time that he can still play if given the chance.

After a troubled NBA career, Rider continues his ways. On January 2006, Rider was arrested for kidnapping charges at Marin, California after taking a female friend in his car against her will. Rider was ordered out of Marin but was later spotted in the area few weeks later. After a Marin County sheriff confronted Rider, he hit a car upon fleeing. Rider was caught in Alameda County late in 2006 and was sent to jail in Marin County.

In February 2007, Rider pleaded guilty to several charges including felony cocaine possession and evading an officer. He was sentenced to 7 months in jail, 120 days of community service, and 3 years of probation. Rider later admitted his problem with marijuana and later the use of cocaine.

On January 6, 2008, Rider was once again arrested after a confrontation with a taxi driver. Rider was arrested for an unlawful firearm possession without bail and a separate $5,000 bail for grand theft.

On March 5, 2008, Rider was once again arrested and held at Marin County for possession of controlled narcotic substance, disobeying a court order, evading a police officer, providing wrong information to a police officer, and driving on a suspended license.

24 days later, Rider was once again arrested at Los Angeles for investigation of auto theft.
