I think it all boils down to ones discretion on how this impacts the church and it's members. If you have the gift of tongue, think twice before you start speaking in tongues because as this may be an inspiration to others this can also cause other members to leave the congregation for they might either be weirded out or may think that it is one of some crazy fanatic's episodes.

Gift of Tongues is a miracle that for the purpose of spreading the gospel can be understood even if there is a language barrier.
This is true and biblical.
It would have served its purpose more if you ask the gift of tongues and the Holy spirit directs you to preach the gospel to a group of people that you will have difficulty with language.
Why would the gift of Tongues be used for healing?, casting evil spirits it is not its purpose.
You can pray in any language. I can say that what you have used it for is not its purpose.

These Can be used for a sermon to be more sensational or used as a gimmick in one of these preaching sessions its not what is in the bible. Biblical Truth should be enough to convict a listener any sensational or experiential gimmicks would entertain vain imaginations and opens the door to evil, meditation ect., which are very the 1st step to invite evil spirits and leads away from biblical truth. We need to test these things.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

@Kenshiro, If someone really have the gift of tongues from the holy spirit, we don't know what are the whole purpose of it, we are just a human beings not capable to understand all the purposed of God. If we believed that the gifts is from GOD then for me only God knows the whole truth behind its purpose, since there are lot of things that we are not capable to explain .

Probably there are lots of false prophets, but for me only God can judge them on the Final days. since he is the only one can see our hearts and mind. .

Indeed we cannot judge a person but only God. But God has given us the Bible to be the basis to test the spirits or doctrines whether they are of God.

I'm not asking if the gift of tongues is biblical. I'm a pentecostal and we have that in our core belief. I'm asking about your post where you made several points and where I said it's unbiblical.

Read Paul's epistle to the Corinthians it will shed some light.

False prophet/teacher is known by his teaching. You don't need to see the heart to tell if that person is a false prophet/teacher, just listen to him speak.
