    actually, naa man jud chance ang lakers karon. prediction lang gamay ha... hehe:
    * * * * * * * * * * *West
    * * * * * * * *1. Spurs* * * * * *mas kusgan sila karon, pero naa ghapon drawback sa ila line-up--> finley & van exel
    * * * * * * * *2. Rockets* * * * possible ma-number 2,3 or 4 because of deep bench
    * * * * * * * *3. Mavericks* * * at least, f maka-huna2x ug tarong ang coach
    * * * * * * * *4. Suns* * * * * * out si amare for 4 months, late recovery sa standings, possible sad ma no. 2 or 3
    * * * * * * * *5. Nuggets* * * *great coaching ug balance players, seeds 5-2 ghapon
    * * * * * * * *6. Grizzlies* * * * syaro...ok na kau ila chemistry karon, nya add na nila si bobby jackson* * * * *
    * * * * * * * *7. Kings* * * * * *shareef ug wells...bibby, miller ug peja. sakto ra but less filling (hehe)
    * * * * * * * *8. Sonics* * * * * wala na si coach mcmillan, jerome james ug uban supporting cast, less intesnsity na karon
    active wannabe 8th seeders:
    * * * * * * * *9. Warriors* * * *good combo ni davis ug richardson, good chemistry among the players
    * * * * * * * 10. Wolves* * * * resiliency, vengence, revenge. unsa pa na diha. pwde ma no. 7-8 seed. poor wolves
    * * * * * * * 11. Lakers * * * * *phil jackson ug kobe. chance lang jud sa playoffs

    hey guys, does everybody in this thread have amnesia or something* ? is it that we just don’t point out the obvious, or maybe this “TEAM” just doesn’t have a “STAR” on the roster that's why we don't give them the props they deserved. have you all forgotten about Big Ben Wallace and the Detroit Pistons? they were just the 2003-2004 NBA Champions if my memory serves me correctly, and was it just months ago that they gave the erstwhile 2004-2005 NBA CHAMPS San Antonio Spurs a galant fight going toe to toe with them ‘til game 7 of the Finals? one good thing going for the Pistons right now is that they have the longest tenure as far as their starting lineup is concerned. that means, they’re more cohesive as a team on both defense and offense. i know they have their downside with the departure of Larry Brown but I believe Flip Saunders is no push over either. i believe Flip is more than capable in rallying his troops and mounting another run for the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy. it won’t be a “walk in the park” for the Knicks, Sixers and even the Heat in reaching the Eastern Conference Finals. barring any injuries, I believe all roads go to Detroit.

    Clippers - obviously, they're the best team in the city of los angeles for the first time. they have opportunity to direct themselves into the playoff contention. and they have a decent first five compare that to gold and purple lakers.
    C - chris kaman: good, young center but needs to improve once again to become a legitimate power in the middle
    PF - elton brand: a workhorse, averaging 20-10 stats a game
    SF - corey magette: capable of making a living at the foul line, needs to improve outside shooting and playmaking ability if he is to become an all-star one day.
    SG - cuttino mobley: still has the touch but he's not the same as compared in the last 2-3 years with the rockets
    PG - sam cassell: he's on the downside of his carreer, but at least he can still play 25-30 minutes a game
    overall, the string of the spots 1-2-3-4 can be promising, match those four up against any starting four in the league and u have a game. main problem? the bench... it's been a problem for years, the capables of stepping up would be rookie yaroslav korolev (im not really sold on him), chris wilcox, quinton ross and walter mccarty.and, the only player who is capable of being a star is shaun livingston, with uncanny court vision but the game of course needs to be developed. but again, every team has a chance im making the playoffs, the clippers should take time to covet their chemistry. they'll miss simmons and jaric and i have hopes for them too.

    Grizzlies - one thing i really noticed, lack of size after the departure of swift...enter the 6'9. 210 pd rookie, hakim warrick. he can do the work backing up the undersized lorenzen wright, other than him, they have the 7-foot-2 jake tsakalidis. and another thing... they got older. with the acquisitions of damon stoudamire, bobby jackson and eddie jones, they're getting versatile shooters down under. but again, they lost the balance and chemistry they had back then. i put them no. 6, because they are considerd as a sleeper this time. to say the least, they can still make it 3 in a row, if they can recover their chemistry and balance of attack. expected line starters: C - wright: luoy sya, wa cya taga-i ug extension; might go play with less intensity
    PF - gasol: go-to-guy: could get a boost in scoring and rebounding; a forward that can block (rare thing)
    SF - mike miller: deadly shooter but charming inside. soft when it comes to banging and hustling
    SG - eddie jones: great shooter beyond the arc. new role in memphis won't assure him 15-16 ppg, but he can contribute entirely on defense
    PG - damon stoudamire: still plays well. factly overrated. i would start bobby jackson instead
    Suns - hehe... naa man lain JJ, duha pa gani. james jones (may improve with nash) and jim jackson (still on the helm), but other than that, they can't fill that void and impact what Joe Johnson has left behind. i put them number 4 (maximum ghapon), or 5 and 6 at least, because they still have steve nash and shawn marion. mingawon ghapon sila ni amare, 4 months is longer than expected. plus they still have kurt thomas on defense. If they keep afloat until amare gets back, and he is the same player we marveled at last season, the Suns will be a nightmare first-round matchup for someone as a No. 5 or 6 seed. projected line-up:
    C - kurt thomas: fills the void for amare, and has to play harder this time... this is west side already
    PF - shawn marion: understand the matrix- 19.4 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 1.5 bpg and 2.0 spg. now that's awesome
    SF - james jones: who shoots the 3 and now he joins a team that will make him fire away
    SG - raja bell: key contributor, defense oriented. great scorer (if gikan sya sa bench, ambot lang karon)
    PG - steve nash: 11.5 asssits per game, kapuy ug pasa2x oi...but nash serves it well, MVP gud

    Sonics - so, wa na si jerome jones, antonio daniels ug coach nate mcmillan. that really hurts... but of course, they have to prove that what they did last season was not a fluke. they still have the firepower in the middle though, namely, potapenko, evans, fortson and the rookie from france, johan petro. they still have the core of allen and lewis, sulod ghapon ni sila, but the real test will be on their new coach. line-up na sad:
    C - vitaly potapenko: a backup center, but now he has to start and that means, opportunity or flatout
    PF - reggie evans: he should be coming off the bench; him and fortson vise-versa
    SF - rashard lewis: 20.5 ppg, maintain lang and they'll be okay
    SG - ray allen: great persona, great outside shooting, great sparker and great contract
    Pg - luke ridnour: a decent PG that will give them 10-12 points and 5-8 assists per game

    Warriors - they're the best sleepers in the west, that season ending run had them going but it's gonna be tough to start that spark again this season. they can edge past the lakers or the sonics if they'll stay afloat with their balance game and... the talented backcourt tandem of baron davis and jason richardson. they have a decent cast inside, adonal foyle, andris biedrins, troy murphy,zarko cabarkapa, rookies ike digou (sleeper sad) ug chris taft (improvement sa NBDL lang sa).
    C - adonal foyle: 4.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 2.0 bpg, kapoy jud cguro iya trabaho lisod na gud ug produce
    PF - troy murphy: 15.4 and 10.8, achieve double-doubles than lebron, webber and amare. great...
    SF - mickael pietrus: great shooter and defender,lack of playing time, mike dunleavy pa jd ang gipa-start
    SG - jason richardson: underrated, versatile, has inscreased scoring average 3 years in a row
    PG - baron davis: has carried the warriors upon arrival, poor shot selection though, has to deliver the passes and points correctly if he wants the team to get back in the playoffs (11 years is too much)

    Lakers - giluk bitaw... hehe. many believes, of course, that kobe is still the most difficult star player in the NBA to play alongside. he's a complete player though, but he has to really involve his teammates if they want to get back in the playoffs (the 8th at least). balik na si phil jackson and other additions. mainly, kwame brown nga disappointment sa washington, but expect him to play 30 minutes under the zen master. other than that, they don't have a credible point guard on the roster, they have to rely on newly acquired aaron mckie na lang jud. if pwde adto na lang ihatag kang kobe or lamar odom to set the plays...
    C - chris mihm: 7.6 ppg and 5.4 rpg, i like him better before the denver all-star break
    PF - kwame brown: this time. its the change of scenary, let's see if he can live up as the 2001 overall 1st pick
    SF - lamar odom: Odom didn't have the ball in his hands as much as he did in Miami. The cause is obvious -- with Kobe Bryant hogging the ball so much, Odom's touches almost had to go down. he has to step it up though...
    SG - kobe bryant: 27.6 ppg...impressive. now, pass that ball and make everybody happy.
    Pg - aaron mckie: wa nay lain. depende if makakuha ug lain nga PG kung naa sila i-trade... trade unta nila si jumaine jones ug PG sa bobcats. i.e. keith bogans

    OVERALL: tuo man mo sa ako gipang-post oi, akoa ra ni analysis... bulatik ra gud pero naay unod. hehe...

    uhuh... they were the NBA Champions, but i dnt think they gave the Spurs a run for their money. instead, it's the other way around. the Spurs gave them a run for their money. they're supposed to defend their title, but the spurs played with great intesity and hunger than of the bad boys of motor city. don't get me wrong,but i like ben wallace and his fro, and of course tayshaun prince and the ever reliable antonio mcdyess, but the spurs won it.' hope they can do better this time with the Flip...

    just saw the pre-season game between the Pistons and the Mavs a couple of hours ago at the American Airlines Center here in Dallas with the Mavs getting the upperhand 103-97 over Detroit. am anxiously waiting for the game between the Spurs and the Mavs this coming November 5th. man, tickets were already sold out for that particular game the first day the ticket outlets opened. guess we'll have to buy from scalpers.. again.. and i hate it..*
