maybe his saying that because of all the photos of the killer wearing a vest and brandishing 2 handguns and acting as if he was some character in a first person game like counterstrike?

again, there's just too many things fueling hatred and violence so why bother add to that?

btw. is it really true that the killer didn't really play games? i just find that hard to believe since "gaming" is like South Korea's NBA/UEFA/World Cup. if you were a great gamer in that country, you'll be more popular than pacman himself.

Yes, Cho was not much of a gamer.. although he only did play Sonic the Hedgehog. Does that game incite any violence to begin with? Not at all.

Cho was just a sick puppy to begin with. Violence doesn't come from video games. There is no link between violence and video games; any studies that says otherwise are just plain FUD. Please direct me to a link that would portray violence lifted directly from a video game. I'd suppose you'd find one... not.

ok. so do you think curios and innocent children can just play these violent games? or let's say if you have an 8 year old son playing GTA games (or any other violent games ) + you have licensed guns (one that you think your kid doesn't know about)?

and btw, here's 1 link that i came across searching for the effects of video games: http://www.psychologymatters.org/videogames.html

no killer/violent person has admitted they are violent because they played a certain type of video game though. if that's what your waiting for, then you just might never find it.

"violence doesn't come from video games"

i guess they don't come from video games because they come from persons. but if a person is fed with more violence from whatever source, they tend to be more violent compared to those which did not have the same exposure to such.

UPDATE: Warrant Reveals No Games In Cho Seung Hui's Posession

Cho Seung Hui, the troubled young man whose nightmarish assault on his fellow students will most likely be studied for years to come, doesn't seem to have been someone who had any involvement with video games in his recent history. Despite certain idiotic claims by both the man who needs to stop using my surname and Dr. Phil, it seems that he actually didn't own any video games... violent or otherwise. According to the search warrant, Cho's dorm room revealed the following items to authorities:

    • Chain from top left closet shelf
    • Folding knife & combination padlock
    • Compaq computer from desktop
    • Assorted documents, notepads, writings from desktop
    • Combination lock
    • Dremel tool and case
    • Nine books, two notebooks, envelopes, from top shelf
    • Assorted books & pads from lower shelf
    • Compact discs from desktops
    • Items from desktop & drawers: winchester multi tool, 3 notebooks, mail, checks, credit card
    • Items from 2nd door: Kodak digital camera, Citibank statement
    • Two cases of compact discs from dresser top
    • Drive: Seagate: 80 Gb
    • Six sheets of green computer paper
    • Mirror with blue plastic housing
    • Dremel tool box with receipt
    • Dell Latitude service tag

So there you have it: at the moment, there is no evidence whatsoever supporting the theory that violent video games played a part in this horrific tragedy.

    UPDATE:

Not only were no games found in the immediate search of Cho Seun Hui's room, but according to a number of articles around the web (including a certain video clip with JT and Chris Matthews), Cho's roommate has stated that he never even saw his roommate playing video games during his rare appearances in the dorm suite.

A number of readers have also pointed out that there is a possibility there could easily be games on the CDs, harddrive, or laptop recovered by the police. While this is certainly possible, I feel obliged to point out that Dr. Phil was referencing console-based games because of his comment about how they glamorize violence "on the big screen." As the warrant clearly shows: Cho Seung Hui did not have either a television set or a gaming console of any type in his room.

geez... what about the fact that a mentally ill person was able to legally obtain firearms?? Or simply the fact that it seems to be quite easy to obtain a gun in the USA?
Well ... who needs gun restrictions anyhow when you can blame Video games...

at least the massacre gave some dudes a neat Halloween costume idea.

I assume it will take less than 6 months for the next massacre.

thats what you get when you dont get laid enough. im serious, these kids lose touch of whats real and whats not real for one simple reason......THEIR LOSERS...at school, when it comes to chicks most of the time even at home. these are the misfits of society. their like revenge of the nerds in real life or american pie but without a happy ending to them, ya'll dig what im saying? its simple, when you have friends, live a healthy life, you get laid once in a while, your happy in general would you think about shooting 24 people? i dont think so. its just a game plain and simple. i still play video games at this age and some of it are even brutal and yet i never thought about killing someone, breaking their neck or anything ridiculous for that matter..NO! thats my answer right there...get a life , get a job and get laid and get your head straight! relax its just a video game.
