Talk about CRISTOBAL GARCIA and the smuggling activities associated with him.

The religion / church or community has nothing to do of his errors.

DENR: Priest should prove icons legally acquired

    Global Nation | INQUIRER Mobile

A Cebu priest known for his collection of religious icons carved from ivory may have incriminated himself with his revelations on the illegal trade in an investigative report appearing in the National Geographic and reported by the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Msgr. Cristobal Garcia could face up to four years in prison unless he could show proof that his ivory collection was acquired legally, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) said on Tuesday....

Priest linked to *** abuse in US, expelled by Dominicans

Belonging to the Archdiocese of Cebu, he is the head of the Commission on Worship; the rector of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Jesus Nazareno in Cansojong, Talisay; and director of the archdiocese publications, “Bag-ong Lungsuranon” and “Mag-ambahan Kita,” according to the 2008-2009 Catholic Directory of the Philippines.
His high-profile ministry is a far cry from his situation some 20 years ago when he was expelled from the Dominican Order. Garcia then was working in the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
His expulsion reportedly came after a nun told police that an altar boy had been found in his bed in a Los Angeles rectory.
According to a listing from the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles that was reported in the Los Angeles Times, Garcia was accused of* “molesting two youths” from 1980 to 1984.
Garcia, in a Dallas Morning News interview at his religious compound, said that he did have *** with two altar boys, but claimed he was the one who was “seduced and raped,” a charge his accusers called absurd. A plaintiff, Paul Corral, said he had obtained a financial settlement.
Garcia said he had been a target because of his family’s wealth. He said the cardinal “gave me clemency” after reviewing a psychological report on him and material from the Dominicans.
According to the same Dallas Morning News article, Garcia was never criminally charged. Before the cases against him could prosper, he* left the United States for* Cebu, his hometown, where he continued to serve. In 1997, he was given the title of monsignor.

Dissociate him from what? As a priest and now monsignor, he leads a faithful flock to a 'supposed' moral path. His position has a lot to do with his errors, so dispute that.

What the hell dude, I can't believe that hypocrites engaged rampant illegal trading of ivories. The allies of the said priest defend that monsignor Garcia's collection of ivory religious images were acquired a long time ago before the law was implemented and elephants were not endangered at that time. Haha, it's a form of blasphemy. Let DENR do the investigation.

A newborn elephant has to be orphaned, survive on his own, get his mom killed, and tusks sawed off so one statue-kissing scumbag collector can get his ivory statue.

    Sick Religion.

As a matter of fact: Elephants are like humans, they crowd over a dead relative and attempt to wake it up. They even cry like humans.

asus, si eezychair basta GOOD NEWS gani about improving economy sa Pinas under PNoy 'take it with a grain of salt/show other links/proofs' dayon ang linya. pero basta BAD NEWS against people/institutions he doesn't like 'its the truth' dayon.

i'll reserve my comment about that ivory smuggling hangtod i'll hear msgr garcia comments about it. kanang sexual abuse, basta pari gani ang akusahan moingon dayon ta nga guilty. pero is it not possible nga tinood ang sulti ni msgr cris gi extort lang siya? kamong nag too diha nga ang pag pari is purely profession and business, i don't think this is msgr garcia's case. is he not part of the family that used to own VECO?
