Google would be a good aid in helping educate you). They are launching what is called a protracted people's war, with the tactic being encircling the cities from the countrysides. All our cities are surrounded by mountainous areas, just imagine an entire army descending upon a single city (plus one column within the city itself). These are tactics that have been used over and over again, from Sun Tzu down to Mao Tse Tung. If you can't even understand a simple analogy, how much more war tactics?

You are talking about anarchists, not communists. Learn the difference between the two before concluding who's a coward and who's not. No sane army with a definite goal would plunge headlong into an imbalanced war.



note: if any of you guys have military friends or relatives, ask them to explain to you the principles of oplan bantay laya. it is a very good campaign against the insurgency, one that tries to get to know the enemy first to find out how best to defeat them. if even ang atong military would make an effort to get to know the rebels, kita pa nuon dili? maayo kaayo ta mo label and name-call rebels, who are fellow Filipinos incidentally, pero we don't make an effort to objectify it.
