It is sadden to hear this news about care givers maltreating the elderly. The people with older age are on their dawn and they need care given by these workers, if the children of their elderly cannot provide it due to less time. They need more understanding. If they can't provide care and understanding to these elderly, at least RESPECT should have been given by these abusive workers. Its more sad to hear that the nationality of those care givers are Filipinos, which, by the way, are known as best in hospitality. It stains the image of Filipino care givers, not only currently working or finding a care giving job in other countries such as UK, US and Canada but the course itself and different care-giving schools in the Philippines.

Terrible but I don't believe it would affect our OFW's. Its an isolated matter and they confirm that it is so. Besides, the UK has more problems regarding its lax immigration law causing more problems in their society like crime rate, etc..

^ This is especially true in Europe where the majority of people know very little about the Philippines. This high profile case is quite detrimental to our caregivers in terms of public perception.
