Typhoon "QUIEL" has made landfall over Dinapigue, Isabela.
Location of Center:
(as of 10:00 a.m.) 40 km North of Casiguran, Aurora
Coordinates: 16.7°N, 122.2°E
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 160 kph near the center
Gustiness of up to 195 kph
Movement: Forecast to move West at 26 kph
Expected to cross Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Benguet
and will exit La Union this afternoon.

Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under Public Storm Warning Signals are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.
Typhoon "Quiel" is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring scattered to widespread rains over Southern Luzon.
Estimated total rainfall over Magat Dam catchment during the passage of Typhoon Quiel is 200-400 mm.
Estimated total rainfall over San Roque Dam catchment areas is 100-150 mm over a period of 24 hrs starting 8 AM today
Estimated total rainfall over Angat Dam catchment due to Monsoon is from 80-100 mm starting later today.
Estimated rainfall amount is from 15 - 25 mm per hour within the 500 km diameter of the Typhoon.
The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today.
