dili ba nasobraan ra atong pagkaproud? you dont see americans saying 'american pride!' or chinese saying 'chinese pride'. katong nidaog ang indonesian-american nga si obama, you dont see or read 'indonesian pride' sa mga websites.

its getting crazy. sa mga website or videos about pinoy boxers, wrestlers, singing sensations, ug uban pang pinoy nga unsa diha, naa man juy daghang manghambog nga pinoy this and pinoy that. matod pa sa isa nga nabasahan nako nga post after daghan kaayo nakakita ug 'pinoy pride' comments, niana ang isa ka viewer nga "yes, manny pacquiao is the best boxer but im beginning to see that you Filipinos are the cockiest fantards in the world". sadly, i couldnt help but agree.

*please respect my views and opinions*
yeah right..too much pride ra kau to the point nga kitang mga Pinoy magsalig na lang ta nga the way para magka unite ang usa ka nasod is kung naay pinoy nga mo excel ug mabalita abroad..dili na mismo hinoon mo lihok ug sakto..

You have to fill that person's shoes for a day before you can judge if that person is being a hypocrite or not by posting "Pinoy Pride".

LOL. When you watch a fight your testosterone level probably goes up and you feel aggressive. How can you not cuss the other team or the guy next to you who is rooting for the other team/fighter?

to be honest. I agree with you guys man sad. like i said before, isa sad ko sa mga muingon ug proud to be pinoy sauna and i still want to keep doing that BUT ang nakaapan lang kay nakanotice ko nga mga individuals ra ang makaproud nato. we should be proud of something as a nation unta. like good governance, scientific achievements, decreasing poverty, or a booming cebu maybe. ang nakapait kay wala. an individual doesnt represent the whole of the philippines because iya raman tong kahago. dili to ang kahago sa daghang pinoy. i may be wrong but i think it makes us look desperate to the international audience.

    Exactly.

So what are we to do now? Not say "Pinoy Pride" while these crooked politicians still run the country and poverty is still pretty much a big problem here?

Yes, but it's certainly not his fault when he inspires a nation, right? Di niya sala when, for example, at the day of his fight the NPA and Philippine Army choose not to go out and kill each other.

For the record, I have not heard of this happening in other countries.

Unless you've gone out and lived with each one of those "international audience's" countries and talked to them and they told you personally how they feel about us saying "Pinoy Pride" all the time in YouTube, I'd say why even worry? Majority of the comments you read on YouTube are crap anyway.

I wouldn't care too much. Really.

whoooaaa, bay. hold your horses bay. wa jud ko niingon nga taas kog bilib sa foreigners. ang akong gimean, taas ra kaayo ang tanaw sa ubang pinoy sa ilang kaugalingon even though the truth is most people nowadays see each other as equal.

why do we have to rub it on other people's faces that Filipinos have talent when Charice or Arnel Sings, when Pacquiao or Donaire fights? I am proud of them but do you really think the Chinese, Germans, Russians, Indonesians, etc care?

All this misplaced pride is misinforming us about the true situation in the Philippines. Mura ra tag nagingon nga magbulagbulagan nalang ta kay total naa paman kaha tay reason maproud diba? di nalang ta mustrive nga magbago as a nation kay di man angay maconcerned kay these people still make us proud. we know our nation has a disease yet we keep a blind eye.

Magwait nalang diay ta hantod mucollapse najud para lang makarealize ta nga there really is nothing to be proud of anymore as a Filipino nation? (if this truth hurts you so bad then please give me a good example of what we can be proud of in our present situation)

maybe you haven't noticed, bay, but being too regionalistic breeds racism. history has taught us that. maybe the racism isnt as aggressive as what we see on TV but it still is racism nevertheless.

I suggest you read the article I posted with an open mind bay. To tell you honestly, the realization hit me without any influence. i never told anyone about my thoughts. wa jud koy nabasa nga article parihas ato before nichange akong opinion about pinoy pride. it just hit me eventually. mao na gipost nako kay the points of view there are exactly like mine and I am pretty sure daghan pa nakarealize ato. maybe it was a result of me being anti racist.

can anyone here actually say something that makes them proud as a Filipino citizen aside from the achievements of Filipino or Fil-foreign individuals? maybe something like 'least corrupt country', 'fastest growing country', 'country with many scientific discoveries' or maybe even something in the likes of the first EDSA revolution because I am damn proud to be a Filipino for that or maybe being proud of being Cebuano for being the most progressive Philippine City outside Manila. let's face it. anyone can sing. anyone can dance. any nationality can box. its not like were the only people that could do those things.

er, right. so you mean it's okay to say "nigger" and all that just because your testosterone level is up? that's what i meant. i watch soccer, basketball, boxing and i never thought of saying "mongoloid" to the other team. there's such a thing as "healthy booing" & not putting a person/group of persons down like that.
hmmm in the same sense okay lang diay nimo, na when the other team cusses us and says stupid brown monkeys (or whatever it is they like to use to tag Filipinos)?? forgiven man sila right? after all their "testosterone level is up".... murag c Floyd Mayweather Jr dah! hahaha!
reminds me of the maids at home who watch their soap operas then scream "bogo jud, bogo jud" when a character does something evil. hahahaha!

    p.s.
TS, i don't think some people here get what you mean.
and for the record as well, makasabot jud ko sa pinoy pride na gi ingon.
mighty proud to be Pinay in fact.
It's just that sometimes Pinoys, in their pinoy pride mode, look down on the other person/team... like i gave an example kato k clottey, who the hell are you to look down on him, dissing him 'cause of his skin color and because of the way he looks? dba, sayop naman na kaau na pagka pinoy pride?
sadly, the problem with most people is, basta lahi na gani and di maki sabay sa trend or popular thing party pooper na dayon ka

It is not right but why yould you place the PINOY PRIDE in the level of DEROGATORY words ? They lso have BROWN PRIDE , WHITE PRIDE , ASIAN PRIDE , BLACK PRIDE and so on . These are not racial issues but being proud of what you are regardless of who you are .

hmmm in the same sense okay lang diay nimo, na when the other team cusses us and says stupid brown monkeys (or whatever it is they like to use to tag Filipinos)?? forgiven man sila right? after all their "testosterone level is up".... murag c Floyd Mayweather Jr dah! hahaha!
You cant deny the fact that would exist because its human nature. Let me ask you , pila kabuok ang ga sulti sa word na MONGOLOID ? Do they represent the population who are not Filipinos ? How about those who talks horsecrap on Filipinos ? Do they even represent the nation ?

reminds me of the maids at home who watch their soap operas then scream "bogo jud, bogo jud" when a character does something evil. hahahaha!
Now this is what I find something offending to other people , the word MAID puts them in a level where you are different from them . A higher being . Damn intawn they are HELPERS because without them , you might not be able to post something here .

    p.s.

These are issues that are not connected with PINOY PRIDE , these are IGNORANCE and also daghan jud Filipino ingon ana . The thing with PINOY PRIDE ? It is being shared by fellow countrymen with joy , achievement , victory , success etc .

Murag ang TS man ang sayop sa iyahang pag sabot sa PINOY PRIDE that is being misinterpeted here because he or you guys are only referring to the ENTERTAINMENT industry .
