Holiday on the 30th makes sense this year because it falls on a Monday. As for August 21, a no-work August 23 is wrong.

Take into account many factors - Philippines has way too many holidays. Philippine tourism is growing so much, holiday economics is irrelevant. Holiday economics mean lesser school days (don't forget the disruptions that storms cause on the school year), lesser production days and disruption of many other social/economic activities.

I guess the holiday economic spoiled brats won't change.

Actually bai wala man gikuha jud ang holiday, gibutang lang sa saktong adlaw and its still a holiday, but dimalas lang kay na-fall sa Sat. heheh.. Sige lang inig 2012 naa na sa Tuesday ang Aug 21 so naa na ta holiday ma-enjoy. hehe.
