Whatever reviews say about the game, they'll never change my mind about it.
Those who will be influenced just because the reviews tell it's good or bad is the real loser on this.
Reviews are just opinions and not rules to follow.
And heck that won't label me as a fanatic just because I play the game.
If you don't like it, then just don't play it. Period.

Having played the game, I can confirm that certain FFXIII elements and statements in game reviews are actually true. I'm very lucky I played the game on a rented PS3 instead of wasting cash on it. Play the game, go back reading the reviews (especially TeamXbox.com and Edge Magazine reviews), remember your experiences, and you'll realize what I mean. Whether cultural or franchise diehards/enthusiasts like it or not, game reviews do help, especially when you think about spending a lot of money to buy the game. FFXIII's true value is a rental, not a purchase, and I say this based on my experience with it.

Having played many RPGs since the start of this console generation, I can say that Final Fantasy XIII does not count on my Top 5 Current Console Generation RPGs list. The best Japanese RPG of this generation is still Lost Odyssey, hands down.

Screw the reviews, people have there own point of views for me I didn't regret buying this game on ps3, I just love the eidolons...like alucard said " If you don't like it, then don't play it"............

I find it funny how these FFXIII extremists react. When they refer to the perfect or near-perfect reviews, they defend them and claim that the reviewers got it right. But when it comes to the much lower review scores, they dismiss them and say that the writers got it all wrong.

One of the Barangay Sambag Japanophiles I know got easily hurt (and turned both defensive and violent) when I stated that FFXIII (now his all-time favorite game) is worth a rental, as well as the time when I showed him TeamXbox.co's FFXIII review. Knowing his past on gaming and culture as well as his behavior, I can say that extremism changed him.

Back to FFXIII, I can say that the game is the weakest FF game I played in many years. It is not bad and definitely it is not the great game otakus and fanatics kept telling me. It's a rental, not a purchase.

To the newcomers reading this - if you don't have the game yet and you're interested to play it, you are better off renting it. Be very careful with your money, especially with the economic uncertainties hounding everyone today.

Careful, careful with how you say things.... you might get burned with the admins here. Didn't they just warn us about flame wars...? And initially somebody started it.... Extremists, jeesh... just when I told at my other post that if you play the game and like it, that didn't make us label ourselves as such.

....moving on then... wait, didn't I just say we do that?
Anyways, the storyline of FFXIII always gets me going. It's all balanced. The thrill of the baddies gaining up on them, the comedy, the tragedy, the freaking drama(it's always this that either makes me cry or makes me want to skip it) and d freaking awesome action. Yeah, FFXIII is one good package.

while ffxiii made new things for jrpgs, i still say 7 will always have 1st place in my heart.
