I think that question reflects the basic materialistic nature of man--to have possessions. "Ako ni, ako na, ako 'to..."
Although admittedly, there may be some things I feel as if I can never throw away, such as a gift from a loved one or a dear friend, the fact that this very planet will one day consume my rotting flesh, effectively "throwing away" my material existence, makes me come to rethink about the concept of "having".
I get this feeling of liberation to think that it is indeed possible to throw things away, without the pangs of regret or loss, considering that the universe we live in is neither good nor bad--it's just indifferent, and the sooner you understand and accept this indifference, the freer you shall become.
