miss, kung web designer imo target mas ok pa siguro mag Fine Arts ka, kay ang training ana since first year is arts gyud. in IT you'll be exposed to programming subjects nga kung dili nimo feel basin maglisud jud ka. mao na ako advice sa imo.

nikki, think about it. going for Med tech just to follow your parents is not a little sacrifice, but a BIG SACRIFICE. you will know soon, 2 years later. sleepless nights, way kan-anay, endless lectures, memorizing, pricking, extracting blood. siguro you will breeze through the entire course with flying colors, basig mu topnotch pa ka sa board, but duh? is it what you really want?

no offense sa med tech, but me, i've gone through the whole thing. ang kalahi lang, i had different motives why i took up med tech. i only took it for the sake nga nice siya nga pre med course. and thinking that med school is still far away financially, i tried to work as one months after passing the board exam. and that's when i felt it wasn't the place for me, like 2 weeks after working in a supposed to be my favorite affiliation hospital, resign dayon ko coz i was not happy with the work.

i like the study after all, but i just could never see myself working as one. in the first place, i only took it aron ma gaan2 ang pag med. so like med jud ang focus. now i can't wait for medical school to begin.

another thing is, you can't make other people happy if you are not happy. so if you are not happy with becoming a med tech puhon, that won't make your parents happy either. you might please them but in the long run they will feel sorry for you. so think about it jud.

sis your story sounds familiar hehe i've heard it from most of my medtech classmates in med w/ the same situation... that goes for my friends (and me?) who are nurses as well... sakto jud na, you can pass, you can get high marks for your boards, you can be hired in a good hospital, but you can never buy happiness if di jud ka ganahan sa course...and @ nikki, it's hard to say "di nako ani" when you've already gone a long way... it takes a lot of courage to do something else baya ug biyaan ang profession na gieskwelahan... think real hard sis.... i agree with anjerika because i also went through the same thing... although sako part wala q gipugos sako parents, i just took up nursing because i was virtually "lost" after HS, and i thought i wanted to go abroad...but then later on i learned im not happy w/ it so nagmed nalang q kay gusto sako mama...and it's not easy sad...di sad q kaau ganahan sa med....
ikaw, you still have time to think things over.....pero if you're really that determined, hala cg..... have it your way... i hope you'll eventually love medtech..

inday, you don't know how lucky you are to know what you really want before graduating from high school.. ako, i didn't know what i wanted til after ni graduate na kog college.. but okay ra pud to akoa kay decent pre-med course ra man sad ang nursing..

kung wala pa lang ka ka-decide.. i'd say sad unta nga IT kay claro kaayo mao imong ganahan.. daghan kaayog nagregret kay nagpapugos ra sila.. sayang money, sayang time..

but if set gyud imong mind nga mu-antos ka for 4 years, i believe kaya ra na nimo.. saihaiyista baya ka pareha nako.. haha. mada ra nag self-motivate..

anyway, if mutake up kag medtech now, it's not like you're turning your back on IT forever.. you can study it after you graduate.. you can work as a medtech to support your dream of being a great web designer..=D
