oi, luthienne how have you been?!

i'm good.: i haven't kept in touch with my "pysch-doc friends." i have no idea if they were able to get a sponsor to start a support group. or maybe it's bad for their business (joke! ). but there are considerably a number naman in this thread that we can start from. right?

yes somehow. people with agoraphobia avoids being in public places where they are relatively crowded. such places include malls, markets, or church, etc. that is why they prefer to stay in their comfort zone, which is inside the house. they fear that something might happen to them (panic attack) in the middle of the crowd and help is out of reach.

the most effective way to develop back your friend's confidence in public places is to accompany her and expose her gradually to these places and assure them that everything's ok. if you see they can't take it anymore, then retreat back and do it again next time with the challenge that you'll go together further and longer on every "next times."

i have panic attacks. some triggered by stress and some wala ra jud. the worst attack i had wala gani trigger. i was at home watching TV nya ning kalit lang. next thing i knew i felt like i was "dying", i couldn't breathe nya my arms were getting numb nya gi dala na ko sa Cebu Doc. My doctors say na maybe there's a deep psychological trigger... my cardiologist thinks its because sa mvp nako. i think its the first one.
