Same thing almost happened to m, except that for it was a motherboard.
i almost bought intel DX58SO, just to save money,
then i find out that there are no ps2 ports.
i decided to invest on more expensive mobo because of this.
most of the new boards i know have at least 1 ps2 port.
is this your mobo?
this is still a good keyboard btw.

i think the usb port is for usb slot in the key board if you used usb flash drive you can slot in the key board.. am i right thats why the cable has many connectors like for headset the other one is for the usb for usb post in the key board and the last one is for the keyboard PS2 slot...
