What about Dr. Ceasar Saloma? He is the physicist and the Dean of the College of Science and a professor at the National Institute of Physics at UP diliman. He is well known to physicists around the Philippines. He is mostly known for his triumphs despite adversity and is the inspiration to most struggling Filipino Physicists like me. hehehe! He holds some remarkable patents in optics. He has won several international awards. Here is a link to the latest awards he won.

He is a very good and down to Earth person. I met him once when he visited the Physics deparment at USC-TC. He is a good friend of Dr. Roland Otadoy, the chairman of the USC Physics Department.
