Grain-free has no grains and has 9 meat sources, it follows the concept of raw diet and has a high protein-low carb diet. Great for picky eaters and dogs that are allergic to grains.
Salmon on the other hand has 1 meat source, 1 carb source and 1 oil source only thats why it is great for sensitive skin.
Chicken has the highest kcal per cup na dog food reason why it is great for active dogs.
All variants are great for the skin and coat. Thanks!
Meat or Meal?

It takes 5lbs of chicken meat to make 1lb of chicken meal.
Although it may appear that chicken meat is a better source of protein that low ash chicken meal, consider this: for every 5lbs of chicken meat used in a recipe, as little as one pound may end up in the finished product. This occurs because 75% of a raw (wet) chicken is water, which evaporates during the cooking process.
On the other hand, meal is fresh meat, with the water and fat already removed. It does not contain by-products, feet, feathers, or it would be labelled as “chicken by-product meal”. It takes 5 pounds of fresh chicken meat to make 1 pound of meal, this is what we use in Petcurean Products.
The AAFCO standard reads…The dry rendered product from a combination of clean flesh and skin with or without accompanying bone, derived from the parts of whole carcasses of chicken (or any meat) or a combination thereof, exclusive of feathers, heads, feet, and entrails.
At Petcurean our meals are always species specific, as we identify the type of meal on the label.
So when you see chicken, turkey, lamb, duck, or salmon listed in the meal form, as the first ingredient on a dog food label, you are getting more of the actual “meat” protein than you would be if it was just listed as “meat”, or chicken as an example, on the label.
