before i was using Vista's Media Center, then i discovered XMBC media center.
mas ganahan ko kay pwede ma-insertan ug poster sa kana nga movie, so when scanning what movie to watch, you'll have an idea what kind of movie it is, just like in the theaters

VLC, it'll play virtually anything including different subtitle formats, you can adjust audio sync on the fly and it's got a built-in image capture feature.

For Music:
Primary - foobar2000 (best sounding player with very minimal footprint)
Secondary - MediaMonkey (makes it very easy to manage my audio files; like add album art)

For Videos:
Primary - Media Player Classic Home Cinema (THE best video player... period. With shaders enabled your videos will look sweet... Follow the instructions here to accelerate over GPU, of course if your GPU is supported: Accelerate x.264 1080p movies over the GPU Guide)
Secondary - VLC (plays anything)
