i beg to disagree. philippine lit is part of the curriculum for secondary and tertiary levels. i think the problem here is, we take it for granted. foreign mythology appeals to most of us than the philippine counterpart. mas vongga man gud ang greek oi, with matching snakes on heads ug uban pa dha!

dude, kung naga adto ka sa mga laing lugar sa pinas even fresh grads na hi-skul or college very less lang ila alamag sa philippine literature.. I dont think na the reason they dont know about philippine literature is that students taken it for granted.. it's really up to the teacher na.. kay maayo jud ug alam ang isa ka teacher sa philippine literature mahimo ba diay na malimot sa isa ka estudyante?
