tompak! You can't go to a battle without a weaponry. Are you prepared?
It doesn't matter where you came from. If you know the job so be it. Some employers think that way too.

If you are a businessman, with person would you choose?

I would agree with skills over paper. But that doesn't mean paper is useless. So for those still students, continue on doing your best sa school. It's even better if you have both skill and paper.

IMHO, company hiring look more on paper... first impression counts a lot!

Do you think an experienced college drop-out is better or a fresh grad with good grades but null experience?
Fresh grad with good grades - if naa pa time allocation for him/her to be trained, OK ra. Definitely mag start ni cya og supporting roles pa then magka-dako iya roles in time. The problem is, most fresh grads kay magsige pangita og new company.

Experienced College drop-out - if his/her skills fit with what is required for the job, OK ra but if required pa cya mag-study og new technologies then dli cya ang right candidate. College drop-outs tend to stay longer and loyal to the company kay low man iya confidence level to apply in other companies.

Master's Degree but obsolete na technology nga nahibaw-an definitely need to be trained pa. High consideration pud ang compensation package, and also the long-term plan sa company.

As for me generally, a person would be better off if he or she finished off college kay mao ra ne puhunan naku na dili matulis and i would bring to my grave. the only pamana that my parents could give na di makawat as what my parents always say.... so i treasure it the most. if wala ko ne skwela, di tako ma abot asa ko ron...

and experience is a plus as well. mas maayo naa ang education and experience POGI POINTS NA KAAYO NA SYA....

Dat is absolutely correct... All entrepreneurs share common traits... They have common sense, creative and have the right attitude. Mao ne mas importante in life than just ur degree. Although for formality sake mas maayo if naa ka degree, but practicality that is not enough to be successful in life........

Creativity + attitude + common sense = success!!! Would u agree?

I think dli na skills over paper or paper over skills.. It should be: honest papers over skills! Coz true nga u can attain the papers through cheating, or apil apil ka prmi sa group ug mga maau para dawat limpyo ka projects, but then pag graduate, mura kag kinder with zero knowledge. So, dpat honest papers, no or minimal cheating, then dpat dli ka dawat limpyo sa projects etc. Skills over papers works only if you want to set up your OWN company. Usually, it never works with working for a company, or at least you don't qualify for promotion.

If you feel you dont want to go to school, save the cash and invest it instead, build ur own company.

I would never hire a fresh graduate, even he would have a ton of paper.
If you hire somebody, that means you do business, and time is money. Ad faster a product is produced, as quicker you can earn money. I would hire right away somebody who has lots of skills, but never has been in a school. But that might be just my opinion...
