As long as you already gain expertise in your field, then both courses are ok. It depends if asa imo hilig. If gusto ka mo venture ug digital circuits technology and programming, then go for COMPE. Most COMPEs tackle digital electronics technologies and Programming. But if your opt to do things in communications technology and advanced electronics technology (digital and analogs circuits) then go for ECE.

Sa imo rajud na nga hilig then if ma gain nimo ang expertise sa skill set sa imo course, then you will have the advantage.

Absolutely your right because both course are part of the Information and Communications Technology

ECE is the more broader compe.. i will try to compare the two profession ha on what industry is suitable for the both line of prof..

    ECE: electronic; telecommuniations ;software;network
    COMPE: software;network;hardware

pero for me.. dili dapat e compare ky d na pareha na course and pareho ra ta engineers... hehehhe..

basta dili lang nursing....! go ENGINEERS!

hahah agree o ani basta dili lang nursing dah..!!!heheh

    I hope it helpz.
Computer technician is way off from being a computer engineer. Layo ra jud kaayo na ang duha bay.

The stereotype of a Computer Engineer is "programming, network2x sa mga computers, technician". Allow me to clarify this.

In reality CompE deals mostly with Digital Electronics, Digital Systems. Which means that they also undergo basic electronics: ECE 1 & ECE 2, small signals analysis, where the professors are from the ECE department, DC and AC circuits theory. CompE also has Control Systems.

Then after those they focus mainly on Digital electronics, Embedded Systems, Interfacing and Digital Systems Design. CompE could also go in depth with IC's because they know VHDL and Verilog which are hardware design languages. And also in the field of Robotics where Control Systems are very important.

And since programming is an integral part of Computer Engineering, this is where versatility comes in. Programming in general and not just being language dependent. One can diverge from electronics towards plain software engineering, whether it be C/C++, Java, Assembly, etc.
