para sa mga karaan nga cpu latest version nila nagkinahanglan atleast 300+mb nga memory mas maayo kadto na lang xubuntu kay mas gamay ra kinahanglanon nga ram..

hardware support? almost all... most of the multimedia codecs were provided pero install pa na from midi, mp3 and etc...

@ Eisen: You might wanna try Linux Mint. It uses XFCE, a light-weight desktop management software, and better than either Ubuntu or Kubuntu.

@ Rooted: You should have a problem running your MP3's since Ubuntu is already packed with multimedia codecs. If problem persists, try running it with Totem player. Totem detects if you have a codec to play such files and prompt you to download codecs, if not.

Linux mint is based on Ubuntu and GNOME is the main desktop on the main distribution. Just check the other Mint variant if there is a XFCE version. Mint does have codecs preinstalled by default.

XUbuntu is XFCE-based from Canonical if somebody wanted a lighter desktop.

Ubuntu does't have MP3 codecs (and several video codecs) by default because of licensing issues, just like any distro that originate from US. If you want your Ubuntu to play these codecs go to Add/Remove and install it manually -- Ubuntu-Restricted-Extras

ang tanang magpareformat og magpainstall nako OS kay ako idual boot ug Ubuntu kay para maka-compare sila asa ang nindot.. hehe. pero kadto lang ako installan kanang dako ang pc, either desktop or laptop, nya pang personal use ra sad..

nahan man jud ko sa ubuntu dah. simple ra kaayo..

ako gamit kay install ko windows ug una, then mao pa ang ubuntu.. mao ra gud ang pamaagi sa paginstall sa windows. basta bootable lang ang installation disc na imo gamit. payts na..

mo-pahit ug gamay nga portion sa imo harddisk ang mga system files sa ubuntu. bali naka-install jud siya sa lain nga partition. dili siya makita sa windows, pero ang imo tanang partitions sa harddisk makita sa ubuntu..
