"Espina said the 136 officers and crew members were given their notice of termination yesterday. The vessels they are serving are still not sailing.
He said the dismissed workers are sad because they lost their jobs at a time when prices of commodities are rapidly rising.
Espina said the company did not have an option because the vessels were still not operating and paying workers salaries will deplete the firm’s resources."
---these men exactly know where to go so they can apply for their next ship. L U N E T A !
daghan kau rn nangitag mga seaman didto they should fit in jst fine....
not unless they are over age. so it's their blessing in disguise. pero kng magtinapulan then they don't have the right to stay in this business for good.
for me sulpicio should be allowed to resume cargo operations only.
They should not be allowed to ferry passengers unless there is a change in management and there are concrete steps taken to improve the safety of their vessels (strap down cargo para dili mu shift ang weight, don't compromise the ship's ballasts to accommodate more cargo, don't allow ships to proceed if bad weather) I also wish they stop blaming God for the incident because it would have been avoided had they not been so greedy.
Like what Tomas Osmena said... all they think about is money... they should be more concerned with the safety sa ilang passengers... dili lang permi pangwarta.
passenger - yes, shut down
cargo - no
5 sea mishaps since 1987 and 45 accidents for the last 28 years per Lloyd's MIU! That should be in Guinness Book of World Records. and AFAIK, the MV Dona Paz tragedy was the worst inter-island vessel disaster during peacetime in the world ever!
change in management is badly needed in Sulpicio... should've been done a long time ago...and might as well say a change in ownership also.

mga aksidente ra pud intawn ang mga nalumos, wa man pud na nila gi tuyo. i think the best thing to do is to be more strict in terms of our government nalang, kung bagyo, wa gyud larga, nya, monitored number of passengers and cargo na dili jud ma overweight. and cargo and passenger should be different.
Bututim class sulpicio lines (2nd class Flag ship), should sank...you know guys why? ask the gov.
no they shouldn't. all they have to do is pay their obligations. if they shutdown plenty of people will loose their job adding more cassualty so-to-speak.
barato kaayo ang sulpicio compare sa uban cargo... dili gyud angay shut down...
No wlay rason nga i shut down.Daghan ma gutom karong panahon sa krisis.
