Just gamers selling items/stuff or developers payed to develop something in-game.

Im sure both fatality and blokey ring a bell in your ears, they are the people we call Pro/Professional gamers.

Sorry but i do consider you "Milk-men". You may call yourselves professional gamer as the name suggest all the cliche that even YOU! who earns money from selling and buying virtual items. Consider this before you call yourselves professionals... do you think that the items you sell really worth something or atleast benefit the buying in reality?

Good to hear that your company earns 6 digit figures... i really hope the people behind it are really well compinsated.

Even bank robbers earn 7 digits if they milked the right cow.

Read my post again. I create stuff using Zbrush and 3D applications and within Second Life itself--it would be hard to classify myself as one of those people who do what you think they do--I am a content creator.

And I do know Fatal1ty and I have an extensive FPS background. I used to be involved in the Rogue Spear and Ghost Recon modding community, search for "rodion" and "rogue spear" via google.com to see what I'm talking about.

I really take offense against people trying to shoehorn what we at Avatrian do as what other "MMORPG milkers" do--we are a creative team--we are NOT milkers. We have a real profession that takes skill and talent--isn't that what the original debate was all about? If a "pro" at FPS was better than a "pro" at MMORPGs, the latter getting a beating at only being something that doesn't require skills but only knowledge of macros and keybinds etc.?

If you want to see how I created the helmet and how I wrote the script/program to make that M4 my avatar is holding in the screenshots work in Second Life, then by all means ask.

Most people like you want to experience online games--well, I want MAKE the experience.

Ok you win. From my chair here you just want to have exclusive rights to the term "pro gamer" because it sounds so exclusive and 733t, fine by me

If you look at the entire thread, it seems that your the one wanting to be called a pro/professional gamer. You can have the title as i never claimed it my self.

Nice. Now I'm really curious if the CG industries in Asia are fully aware of the potentials of virtual worlds in the coming 3-4 years. I do want to attend something like this event just to find out how 3D artists' roles change once the web transitions from 2.0 to 3.0

Yes, true, but I'm only basing it from definition. Professional and gamer. Simple as that.
