Just by looking at the philippine perspective, daghan nagminyo bisag way tarong nga trabaho. Even just a plywood and GI sheet shack as their shelter, they are able to cope with the day to day needs. Poverty level yes, but see how they thrive in our society.
Financial stability can be remedied as long as both agree on the lifestyle that they should have given their financial capability. Emotional stability or should i say emotional instability could spell havoc between parties. insecurities, jealousy,etc...damn!
Better if you have both. Everybody happy. One happy family.
