Roxas draws cheers from businessmen at presidential forum

LIBERAL Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas has again showed that he is the “darling of the business sector” and possibly its top choice for president in the next year’s national elections.

At a presidential forum in the upscale Manila Polo Club in Makati City on Wednesday night, Roxas got loud cheers from a satisfied crowd composed of businessmen after taking questions with ABS-CBN News Channel hosts.

Some of them were even heard chanting “Go Mar!” after the forum dubbed “Meet Your Candidates.”

The event was organized by alumni of prominent American colleges Harvard University, Kellog School of Management and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Roxas is an alumnus of Wharton business school.

Before Roxas, another presidential aspirant Senator Grace Poe spoke at the forum.

Seen in the audience was Roxas’ wife and broadcaster Korina Sanchez-Roxas.

duterte is also a good man but ambak mangud siya dayon sa taas. national na baya iya atubangon kun makadaog siya. dili na baya siya kakulata sa mga drug lord kay magpuyo naman siya pirmi sa malacanyang. dili naman davao nga kun naay drug lord nga nasakpan og napriso ,dali ra niya adtuon sa prisohan kay davao raman gihapon.ang resulta mahadlok gud ang tanan dautan sa davo. if ma president siya, kun naay dako madakpan sa cebu or bohol, muari gyud na sya sa cebu?? i think dili na kay daghan nag problema sa laing laing lugar.usa pa giduso niya ang federalism form of government. so dili na siya mapugngan kun unsay iya ipatuman kay mawala man ang congress og senator nga mao untay mu check and balance sa president decision.mao nay akoa nahibawuan sa federal form of government. kay less corrupt daw kay wala namay congressman og senator but ang mga 1st world countries like us ,france. germany etc, asensado man gihapon maski dili federal form of government.

si poe sad , wala pa kaau experience compare kang mar kay kutob pa man siya mtrcb. so sa akoa lang hilaw pa.

si binay maayu pero naa lang ko negative perception niya kay kadtong gi invite lang siya sa senate committe, wa gyud siya nitungha. ikapila siya ipatawag wa gyud siya nipakita. if wala kay sala then ngano mahadlok man binay pakita sa senate??
so maoy akua rason ngano si mar ko.

Despite reportedly having the biggest warchest in Philippine history, dili jud na kadaog si Mar. Yes, he is the most experienced among all candidates. Experienced sa kapalpakan. And he yes he went to the most expensive schools. It does not mean he is the most intelligent. Listen to how he makes a fool of himself time and again. He is simply hopeless.

Duterte all the way. But if Mar succeeds in preventing Duterte from running, then anyone but Mar. Hahaha! Si Mar walay pag-asa.

The LP presidential candidate, Mar Roxas, held a roundtable discussion with the staffers of the Philippine STAR last Monday, Nov. 9. I arrived late because of the traffic. As I did previously to Vice President Binay, I asked two questions.

I began with, “The movement and organizations I represent – BayanKo, Katipunan, and NACTODAP with their millions of members – have joined together to clamor for constitutional reform to shift to a parliamentary federal form of government. Former presidents Fidel V. Ramos and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo have expressed their support for us. A growing number of the citizenry in the social media support our efforts. Former Chief Justice Reynato Puno, the chairman emeritus of BayanKo, referred to the present political system as ‘insane’ because it favors the rich and family dynasties and shuts out the marginalized sectors from the political mainstream due to the high cost of campaigning for public office. You yourself are reported to have the biggest campaign chest in Philippine history, judging from the number of your TV ads. You come from one of the richest families in this country tied to the established order.

My first question is this: Do you favor constitutional reform to a different form of government? If not, why not? When I asked the same question to Vice President Binay, he gave an evasive reply. I hope you will be more precise.”

Mar Roxas dismissed my question with a mere, “There is no clamor for constitutional change.”
