it depends on your motive, if you just want to get in the sack with your hot date and get it done and over, then take her to a pricey resto.
if she is wife material, then take her to "your kinda place."
but as a general rule, don't take your first dates date to expensive restaurants unless you want to be a gold digger magnet for sluts and the good girls might think you are buying them off.
