ayaw tawn mu pag ing.ani o. pataka lng ug pang ambition!
My shih-poo (tzu-poodle mix) is getting older and sooner or later, if he goes before me, you bet Ill find him a partner, he'll never be replaced, but his little rascals will surely remind me of him..
my two cents:
Papers or no papers, it really doesnt matter to me. If your buying a dog, you are buying a dog not something else.. Its not the dogs temperament thats important, but the owner's.
In addition, we should not forget that at one time ALL visions of todays recognized breeds in most registries were once a breeders vision... a designer dog like my shih-poo.. hehehe..
as i said to each his own jud na.. some people does not care if not pure ang ila dogs, its the same dog... and thats perfectly fine. but for some people especially the show exhibitors like me, having a pedigreed dog is important.
so to "cheapen" the importance of having pedigree papers is not acceptable. for casual owners like you, yes it does not matter, and we understand that... for people like us, having papers matters. for us dogshowing is not only for fun but it is already a passion. i cant over stress its importance, you'll only get to understand it once you also experience it and got hooked on it. point in case is the reason why some people buy dogs up to millions of pesos... what could be more insane than to buy a pedigreed dog worth already as much as one modest house? it can only be explained as PASSION. i rest my case. peace![]()
"As exhibitors I suppose by the “outside” world we are seen as a funny bunch travelling many miles just for a few seconds in the ring with our beloved dogs, I see us though as living in our little universe, where for that few hours or that day nothing else really matters except the dogs and each others company..."

^^
I just thought the thread was about Dog tips about breeding, buying and selling.. maybe i missed the " show exhibitors and dogshowing " part.. Anyways, allow me to reiterate, Im planning to breed my shih-poo simply because I want to have a copy of my dog in the event that he dies. In my own, as long as he wags his tail when i call his name, no dogshow can tell me otherwise that he is not of quality. I dont need the praise of other people just to have a mind-set that my dog is of quality. fyi, hybrid dogs like shih-poos registered abroad would be just as expensive.. hehehe
LOL i thought of that too... but since there was a point raised earlier that pedigree papers is not that important, i have to put forward its purpose too, thus the dog showing importance. but since you also raised this thread about breeding, the ethics of breeding dogs that conform to their standards plays up too... and that includes the avoidance of mixing breeds. mixbreeding for the purists is not simply pairing one with another... the breeder has to have knowledge on what exactly he wants in pairing this particular dog with another... but if its just for mere "nahan rako makita unsa gawas ani", sadly thats not ethical breeding.
lastly on you point that your shipoo if registered abroad would be as expensive... thats a lot of bull. your shipoo will never, i repeat, will never be registered abroad as their dog registration is stricter and more stringent that what we have here. its like saying Ph will be able to launch an space exploration in the next 3 years - suntok sa buwan.
an example of indiscriminate crossbreeding...

karon ipa-adopt na lang kay dili man naganahi sa outcome...
dogs have life dili na ordinaryo nga butang nga if di ta nahan sa
nigawas nga mga itoy ato lang ilabay bisag asa. tsk tsk tsk![]()
from what I understand with your post, you actually agree with responsible pairing.. mixbreeding and crossbreeding might be two different things as I might conceive it..
of course it would not be registered as purebreed, simply because its not, and who would really.. but to say it would not be registered as a hybrid, now thats pure unfamiliarity.. additional info; hybrid standards states that the dog has to be from two pedigreed purebreeds..
then I guess at some point I was right, its not the dogs temparement/attitude, but the owners/breeders..
