Taking Care of Dad
A few years back I had a party at my house with about 20 people. Like many of us our dogs run our house. This night a gentleman came over that none of us had ever met before. My rottie immediatly took a defense posture with only this man. He stood in front of me trying to back me up into a corner. This was very odd behavior for such a lover. I told the man that he had to leave because if I my dog doesnt like you I dont either. Two weeks later we found out this man was a convicted rapist, burglar and was out on parole. I am not saying anything would of happend that night, just trust your dogs instincts they have no alterior motive.

The Protector
One day when my wife was walking our year & 1/2 Rottie "Rambo" who at that time weighed around 130 lbs, a Pit Bull that lived in our neighborhood got loose from his pen and yard and tried to attack my wife and him. The pit was a full grown adult with a lot of meaness and power, Rambo was just a year and a half pup with a heart the size of ten pit bulls, he went into action protecting my wife and himself. He received a tiny hole in his ear which was there till the day he died, but you know something, that pit bull never wanted any part of Rambo again. Rambo hated pit bulls for the rest of his life, everytime he saw one, he would get real excited and want to get them. And here is a rottie that wouldn't harm a flea. Thanks to him, my wife did not get a scratch, all she got was a good scare and a protecter for life.

Mai Tuk The Great!
I have a wonderfull boy named Mai Tuk (pronounced myee tuck---Indian for White Fang) who is now turning 15 on the 31st of this month. I delivered him myelf when my neighbors dog had trouble with her delivery of her pups. I ended up delivering 4 of the 9 pups before my mom came and got me (was 2am & I was just 14...had to go to school next day so off to bed). He has been the BEST friend I ahve EVER had in my life! He knows what I am thinking and I know what he is thinking just by our eye contact. He has been there for me on many occasions but there is one that sticks out more than the others. I was living in a motel in Denver (bad part of Denver too...drug addicts , gangs ect...) and would walk my dogs every chance I got. Well one night some guys kept pestering me and I kept warning them to stay back. Even my other dog was getting suspicious of them. All of a sudden one of them tried touching me.I didn't even see him coming till my dog Tuk ,was in his face! He bit his hand and kept going at the guy till finally he and the other guy went running off! I was so scared when it all was going down , even thought maybe that guy would do something about the bite he recieved , of course no actions came as these guys knew I am sure that they would have gotten into trouble for trying to get me and do God knows only what! Tuk is the reason I have such respect for Rottweilers. They have undeniable devotion/heart/determination and support their owners on such a high level. I love my boy and do not look forward to him leaving me. At 15 he has lived half my life and I feel as though he is my son! Thank you my boy for being the BEST friend I have ever had... Sandbox Rescue
My husband and I went to this cook out.. We were listening to music, eating steak, talking with everyone.. We had our 5 year old neighbor with us. She was playing in a sand box. My dog Chase knows this little girl fairly well.. The little girl often comes over and plays with Chase. Well she was sitting in this sand box and my dog was tied up on her leash by the picnic table. (this leash is 15 feet long) Well this guy was backing his truck up towards where the little girl was playing in the sandbox.. Well Chase thought he was getting too close to her so she stood up, stuck her chest out, ran in between the sandbox and the truck and started barking this loud, deep bark!! And this dog is very small for a rottie.. She is not even 80 pounds... NOw I know that saying is true.. "It's not the size of the dog that counts.. It's the size of the fight in the dog that matters!"

Who wouldn't love him?
In the year 2000 we moved into a new house and my parents decided to get us a new dog.....we searched everywhere to find the perfect dog and we did his name was ace and he was a one year old rottie. I've never met such a loyal dog in my entire life....and every i knew and who met him loved him with all of there heart. About a month ago i was walking across the road to go get my mail when a car came out of the turn off heading right towards me Ace saw the car coming towards me. He ran out towards me to get me out of the way but the car hit him instead. We rushed him to the vet hoping he would be ok and as far as we knew he would be. The vet told us he had a very bad break to his front left leg and that they could amputate or pin it back together the amputation cost less and we were prepared to do it. The next morning the vet called us and informed us that his right front leg was also broken and that there was no way to fix it. We all thought we had prepared for that horrible five minutes but you can never be ready for something like that. Ace was put down on April 27/06 it was the hardest thing i have ever had to go through but most of all i feel responsible for his death because he was saving my life. Now we have a six week old rottie puppy and her name is Kat i know he would be proud of us knowing we are moving on but also knowing he will always and forever be in our hearts. We have his ashes and a painted portrate of him.....he was a member of this family not a pet.

A True Part of the Family
I am the proud owner of a wonderful Rottweiler named Jake (he turned 2 years old today!). My family was skeptical about my desire to have a Rottie but I insisted that raised right and trained consistently that they are the best dogs on the planet. Jake is truly a creature of habit which is great because I always know when something isn't right, I never trusted those out of the ordinary actions until one night in November of 2005 when Jake was 9 1/2 months old. I came home from a birthday party late, he was sleeping with my Dad, when I got in the door I got Jake and went upstairs to bed. Normally Jake goes right to sleep and sleeps through the night, that night he kept whining and whimpering at the gate at the top of the steps, I continued to tell him it was time for sleep, he would obey and lay down only to return. Around 4:00am, he came to the bedside bit onto my blanket and pulled the blanket off. My first instinct was "he must really have to pee". I decided to take him downstairs to go out. He always runs straight for the door to the yard but instead ran into my father's bedroom, jumped on the bed and laid his head across my father's chest. I went over and my father barely spoke out, "I'm having a heart attack I think", Jake would not move until the ambulance arrived and still stood close. My father's main artery was 99% blocked, if Jake had not insisted I get out of bed, my father would not be here today. Jake's out of the ordinary actions are now fully investigated and he became an instant part of the entire family and noone ever questioned my desire to have a Rottweiler again. In fact I think now Jake is more spoiled that 100% trained which is why he is having an all out 2nd birthday party tonight! I can't imagine my life without my Jake and thanks to him I still have my Dad too.

Saving Mia
At the time both my granddaughter Mia, and our Rottweiler (Xiomar) were about 2 years old. We (myself, husband, Mia's mother, and Xiomar) were in the kitchen. Mia had climbed on top of a trash can. She began to fall, and before anyone of us could react, Xiomar bolted toward her and broke her fall! She kind of bounced off his side and then came to her feet. Most likely she would have hit her head on the edge of the counter..... I don't think she realized what happened... The three of us just stood there, mouths gaping...it happened so fast. Mia and Xiomar are only months apart, and she came with us often to his training classes......
