question lang...i don't know if its just me, murag mas daghan ang patch update ang ubuntu compared sa windows? observation lang.

it's because it's a community driven operating system.. what ever errors found or a much better source.. mo update dayon na sila for the sake na dali nalang ang pag gamit sa operating system..

why gamay lang ang updates sa windows..

because it's a proprietary software owned by microsoft.. the community (end users) cannot change or add codes to windows even it's for the benefit on microsoft..


lets say.. some users make viruses for linux... let's say it's a success virus.. then here comes another user who detects the virus and made updates in order to get rid of the virus..

when this patch goes to your system.. the virus that the user made will no longer be effective.. so this is the advantage of linux from a proprietary software such as ms or mac.

exactly. also, ang updates sa linux, particularly sa ubuntu, kay tagsa ra nga security related. it's almost always just lib and source updates.

Guys, naa lang koy question. Akong laptop (HP Pavilion dv2000) akong gi-format bag-o lang from Win7 to Ubuntu 10.10.

Initially, ok ra kaayo tanan, no problems ra gyud. Then 2 days ago, dili na nako ma en-able/activate akong Wireless network. Dili ko maka connect ug Wifi. Ang switch sa akong Wireless kay murag dili mu work, kay miski akong i-on dili gihapon makita sa system na naka on. Pero maka connect ra ko kung mugamit ko ug Lan Cable.

Ako na gi try ug ilisan ang Wireless Network card, pero dili gihapon mu-work.

What happened 2 days ago was, ni download ko ug Chromium OS, nya ni try ko ug boot from Live USB. Pero dili maka detect sa akong Wifi, so akong gi-connect using Lan Cable. Ok ra. Then pag balik na nako to Ubuntu, mao na to ang problem. Dili na ma en-able ang akong Wireless.

Naa mo idea unsa akong remedy ani?
