Guys kana mga GAS STATIONS nato ... these people are only what we call DISTRIBUTORS . They are all subjected by the SUPPLIERS that are also regulated . DIli na sila maka buot buot ug hatag s ailahang presyo , they make the same amount of profit liter per liter with its proper equivalency .

    Daghan factors ana :

    - same octane ba na ang comparison ?
    - same supplier ba gi compare na duha ka gas prices ?
    - same cost of living ba na ang duha ka lugar sa gi compare na gas prices ?

if saying that on a posted date of 11/20/07 of a NY gas price na $ 2.50 hehehe .... that is a gas you dont want in your car . That is a price you are comparing to a very high quality gas in the Philippines . Ang i compare lage is OCTANE per OCTANE equivalency . Pangitaa ang presyo sa octane na 95 sa NY unya i compare na siya sa XCS 92 octane sa Cebu . Let me know .
    Regular Gasoline.

The Price of regular gasoline is just 1 Peso difference.... so 44.xx - 1 peso = 43.xx

    that is still TOO MUCH

30 vs 43.xx pesos per liter.... its better to buy Regular Gasoline in New York and or Singapore

what makes gas prices expensive involves many other factors like.

    - The landed cost of fuel is expensive because the Philippines is basically a "feeder port." Unlike Singapore or NYC, which are "port hubs," vessels/tankers normally ply around those routes regularly and come back with processed fuel or they just go straight to Malaysia (if it's from Singa) or Canada or Texas (if from NYC) to reload with processed fuel. In the Philippines most of the tankers that carry our fuel are contracted and in most cases smaller vessels. It takes more vessels to carry imported oil since our ports (and most feeder ports) are basically configured for smaller vessels unlike in Singa or NYC.

This case is also true in Europe...pump prices are cheaper in The Netherlands (a port hub) compared to Austria, or Germany since most of the fuel that go to Europe are from The Netherlands.

    - Economies of scale. The Philippines is not a bulk-based user of fossil fuel or our consumption OF fossil fuel is
mostly for transport purposes (air, sea, land) since most of our energy are derived from natural sources. Heavy
users of oil like China (also reliant of bunker fuel for electricity) can hedge prices ahead (to avoid price fluctuation in the spot markets). Unfortunately, we don't have that kind of leverage here.

    - There are also times when we say it's expensive because we bought them previously at higher prices. And there are also times that pump prices are slightly lower also for the same reason.

BUT By and large, the world now suffers from high prices of gas...because we are at the mercy of those that produce them.

Will that really make a HUGE Difference?

if you compute it. There maybe a difference of 3-5 pesos per liter. but more than 10 peso difference.... Clearly this is Price manipulation

as i have said, our inventories maybe based on the recent prices. u may want to factor in the cost of transport in an archipelagic country...the cost of transport per nautical mile here is expensive than that HK and Singa.

but we'll never know if the recent prices are manipulated...they are good at that...i think DOE should know better hehehe

Mao na ang Pinas/ especially sa Sugbo kailangan na jud mo shift to an efficient mass transport system.... do u think maka save ta ug gasolina kung daghan gihapon mag dagan na tricycle. is it an effecient public tranport vehicle? is jeepny an effecient and effective mass transport (daghan pa jud colorum)?

kailangan na jud ta mo shift to a new and much more effecient way of moving people and goods around the city.

naa tai Malampaya Rig that is pumpin CNG pero dili ta ka gamit kai wala man tai public utility vehicles that Runs on Compressed Natural Gas ambot lang kaha sa luzon.... kasagaran naka LPG man cguro, Mas barato man cguro CNG kai sa LPG ug mag limpyo pa jud.

I don't think so...... it won't make that HUGE of a difference ALSO.... Transport can add 2-3 pesos the most for every liter.
